JTBC Launches New Friday Series Featuring Stars Lee Dong-wook, Song Joong-ki, and Seo Hyun-jin

JTBC is set to launch a new 'Friday Series' featuring works starring Lee Dong-wook, Song Joong-ki, and Seo Hyun-jin.

Starting in July, JTBC will introduce the 'Friday Series' every Friday at 8:50 PM, expanding its weekend drama lineup to include double weekend dramas from Friday to Sunday.

The 'Friday Series' will kick off the weekend with back-to-back episodes, followed by JTBC's popular Saturday-Sunday dramas, ensuring a weekend full of entertainment.

The first show in the 'Friday Series' lineup is 'The Good Guy,' starring Lee Dong-wook and Lee Sung-kyung. It tells the story of Park Seok-cheol (played by Lee Dong-wook), the eldest grandson of a gangster family with a surprisingly tender heart, and his first love, Kang Mi-young (played by Lee Sung-kyung), who dreams of becoming a singer.

'My Youth,' featuring Song Joong-ki as a florist and Chun Woo-hee, known for her unique characters, will also be part of the 'Friday Series.'

Seo Hyun-jin, known for her captivating performances, will star in 'Love Me,' adding to the anticipation for the 'Friday Series.' The drama promises to deliver a profound emotional impact with its intricate psychological portrayal and an extraordinary melodrama about an ordinary family.

However, with the risk of airing only once a week and the fierce competition in Friday weekend dramas, the outcome of the 'Friday Series' remains uncertain.

JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama lineup remains strong. Following the success of 'Lady Ok's Tale,' 'The Art of Negotiation,' and 'More Beautiful Than Heaven,' the comedy-action youth investigation drama 'Good Boy,' starring Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun, will premiere this weekend.

Upcoming releases include 'Esquire: Lawyers Who Dream of Being Lawyers,' 'A Hundred Memories,' 'The Story of Manager Kim at a Major Corporation in Seoul,' and 'Waiting for Gyeongdo,' offering a diverse range of genres and themes.

'Esquire' is set to open a new chapter in legal dramas with its intense courtroom battles. It stars Lee Jin-wook as elite lawyer Yoon Seok-hoon and Jung Chae-yeon as rookie lawyer Kang Hyo-min, who clash and grow into true lawyers.

Set in the 1980s, 'A Hundred Memories' features Kim Da-mi and Shin Ye-eun as bus conductors, along with rising star Heo Nam-joon, in a poignant love triangle that evokes a warm retro sentiment.

'The Story of Manager Kim' has garnered attention with the casting of Ryu Seung-ryong, a '100 million audience actor.' It tells the story of a middle-aged man who loses everything he values and embarks on a journey to rediscover his true self, resonating with modern-day workers and families.

At the end of the year, 'Waiting for Gyeongdo,' directed by Lim Hyun-wook and written by Yoo Young-ah, will air. The collaboration between 'ratings guarantee' Park Seo-joon and rising star Won Ji-an is highly anticipated, promising a sensational synergy with its stylish direction and profound script.

JTBC stated, "With the introduction of the 'Friday Series,' we expect JTBC's dominance in the weekend prime time to increase. We will continue to explore and attempt various genres to provide viewers with a weekend full of entertainment."

JTBC's 'Friday Series' will air every Friday at 8:50 PM with two consecutive episodes, while the Saturday-Sunday dramas will air every Saturday at 10:40 PM and Sunday at 10:30 PM.
