The drama 'Monthly Boyfriend' has been confirmed for release on Netflix.

According to a report by TenAsia on the 14th, 'Monthly Boyfriend', initially slated as a new MBC drama, will now be available on Netflix. The series is currently being filmed both domestically and internationally.

'Monthly Boyfriend' is a fantasy romance series with a unique premise where one can subscribe to a boyfriend in a virtual world, and the relationship continues into reality. The series is directed by Kim Jung-sik, known for his work on 'Work Later, Drink Now', 'Strong Woman Kang Nam-soon', and 'I Hate Losing'.

The male lead is played by Seo In-guk, while the female lead is portrayed by BLACKPINK member and actress Jisoo. The duo recently completed overseas location shooting in the Philippines. Their collaboration has sparked significant interest, with international media even speculating about a possible romance between Seo In-guk and Jisoo.

In addition to Seo In-guk and Jisoo, the cast includes Gong Min-jung, known for her standout supporting roles. 'Monthly Boyfriend' marks Gong Min-jung's first project after giving birth.

Currently, Jisoo is also starring in Coupang Play's 'Newtopia', a series set in a high-rise air defense unit in Seoul, where her character Young-joo, after being dumped by her soldier boyfriend Jae-yoon (played by Park Jung-min), navigates a zombie apocalypse to reunite with him.

'Monthly Boyfriend' is set to premiere on Netflix in 2026.
