Choi Woo-shik Opens Up About Feeling 'Gray' and Embracing Emptiness

On November 2, the YouTube channel 'BDNS' released a video titled 'Waiting for the Jajangmyeon That Never Comes with Choi Woo-shik.' The series 'Waiting for You Who Never Comes' features conversations with guests while waiting for food delivery. This episode's guest was actor Choi Woo-shik.
The episode was uniquely filmed in Moon Sang-hoon's actual room. Choi complimented the room, saying, "It's pretty." Moon showed Choi an autograph from Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight Schrute in the TV series 'The Office.'
Moon presented Choi with various gifts. He first offered wine, asking if Choi liked it, to which Choi responded, "I like all alcohol," expressing gratitude for the gift.
Moon then gifted Choi a Batman toy, acknowledging Choi's fondness for the character. Choi reacted enthusiastically, saying, "This is amazing. Thank you so much. I'll give you something equally precious later." They then ordered Chinese food and continued their conversation.

Choi admitted, "I used to love outdoor activities, but not much of that is reflected in my life now. I try to force myself to find interests, but it becomes exhausting."
Choi described his current state as 'gray.' When Moon asked if he felt empty, Choi confirmed, "I do feel empty." However, he added, "Fortunately, there are times when that's beneficial," explaining that his 'gray' life complements his acting roles.

Moon also asked if there was a song that reminded Choi of the past. Choi mentioned a song by 'Blink-182,' recalling, "It played on set during a tough time, and it brought me to tears."
When asked if reminiscing led to sadness, Choi said it didn't. He reflected, "Those times were great, and having friends then is why I'm here now. My personality was shaped by those friendships."
Choi shared that his friends have since started families, saying, "All my friends are now fathers, with sons and daughters."
Last year, Choi starred as the killer Lee Tang in the Netflix drama 'The Killer's Shopping List.' His next project, 'Melo Movie,' will be released on Netflix on February 14, where he stars alongside actress Park Bo-young.
