Hye Eun Yi Reveals Past Earnings and Financial Struggles

Korean singer Hye Eun Yi recently opened up about her earnings during her peak years on the KBS2 show 'Park Won Sook's Living Together,' which aired on the 28th. The episode featured Park Won Sook, Hye Eun Yi, Nam Goong Ok Bun, and Won Mi Yeon settling into a new home in Seoul's Bukchon Village.

Hye Eun Yi expressed nostalgia, saying, "It's heartwarming. I lived in a traditional Korean house when I was young, so I have fond memories of it." Park Won Sook boasted, "I lived inside the four gates of Seoul during my childhood," to which Hye Eun Yi responded, "If you lived inside the four gates, weren't you born with a silver spoon?" Park Won Sook replied, "I wasn't exactly born with a silver spoon, but it was rare to meet celebrities my age who lived there." Hye Eun Yi mentioned her ex-husband, Kim Dong Hyun, saying, "Didn't Kim Dong Hyun attend the same elementary school?" Park Won Sook humorously added, "He was a year behind me, so we're quite close."

Hye Eun Yi shared, "Every time Park Won Sook appears on TV, she talks about it from the time we met until we divorced." Park Won Sook jokingly suggested, "Should we invite Kim Dong Hyun over?" Hye Eun Yi pretended not to hear and changed the subject, bringing laughter.

The group also explored Seoul, visiting the trendy Seongsu-dong area and enjoying a picnic by the Han River. During their outing, they reminisced about their glory days.

Hye Eun Yi revealed, "In 1977, I earned 10 million won from an advertisement, which was equivalent to the price of several apartments in Seoul at the time." Park Won Sook added, "Back then, a 20-pyeong apartment in Seoul cost around 4.5 million won." Won Mi Yeon recalled attending a first birthday party at Hye Eun Yi's apartment. Hye Eun Yi lamented, "I lost that apartment, which is now worth 4 to 5 billion won."

Previously, in 2020 on 'Living Together,' Hye Eun Yi disclosed, "I cleared 10 billion won in debt. I lost five 50-pyeong apartments, my mother's house, and even my uncle's house, which was the most heartbreaking." She has also shared in interviews and broadcasts that she inherited a 10 billion won debt due to Kim Dong Hyun's business failures and spent 10 years repaying it.

Hye Eun Yi married Kim Dong Hyun in 1990 and divorced in July 2019.
