tvN's New Drama 'Love on a Single Log Bridge' Set to Premiere on November 23
tvN's new drama 'Love on a Single Log Bridge' is set to premiere on November 23, following the conclusion of 'Jung Nyeon'.
The drama 'Love on a Single Log Bridge', which follows 'Jung Nyeon', tells the story of Seok Ji-won and Yoon Ji-won, a man and a woman born on the same day with the same name in rival families. After a painful farewell at the age of eighteen, they reunite 18 years later, igniting a war-like romance between these eternal 'Ji-won' rivals. Directed by Park Joon-hwa, known for 'What's Wrong with Secretary Kim' and 'Alchemy of Souls' Part 1 and 2, and written by Lim Ye-jin, co-writer of 'The Tale of Nokdu' and 'Love in the Moonlight', the drama promises an exciting collaboration.
On the 10th, the production team of 'Love on a Single Log Bridge' unveiled the script reading session, marking the first step of this 'hate relationship' romance. The session was attended by a cast that inspires confidence, including Joo Ji-hoon, Jung Yu-mi, Lee Si-woo, Kim Ye-won, Kim Kap-soo, and Jeon Hye-jin, who brought the scene to life with their passionate performances.
Joo Ji-hoon drew attention with his natural portrayal of 'Seok Ji-won', the executive director of Seokban Construction and the new chairman of Dokmok High School, a character who excels in both academics and sports. His nuanced depiction of Seok Ji-won's emotional changes, especially after reuniting with his 'arch-rival' Yoon Ji-won (played by Jung Yu-mi) after 18 years, heightened anticipation for his return to romantic comedy.
Jung Yu-mi showcased her prowess as the 'queen of romantic comedies' by playing 'Yoon Ji-won', a physical education teacher at Dokmok High School. Yoon Ji-won is a character whose inner aggression reawakens upon reuniting with her nemesis Seok Ji-won after 18 years. Jung Yu-mi skillfully built the narrative of Yoon Ji-won, once known as the 'mad dog of Dokmok High', with her exceptional pacing. The chemistry between Joo Ji-hoon and Jung Yu-mi promises to deliver a delightful and fresh dynamic, capturing the essence of their youthful school days and their mid-30s. The drama also features a strong supporting cast that adds humor and realism. Kim Kap-soo and Lee Byung-joon, who play characters from rival families spanning three generations, deliver comedic moments with their sharp exchanges. Kim Kap-soo plays 'Yoon Jae-ho', Yoon Ji-won's grandfather and former chairman of Dokmok High, while Lee Byung-joon portrays 'Seok Kyung-tae', Seok Ji-won's father and chairman of Seokban Construction, adding flavor to the drama with their unique performances.
Additionally, the Dokmok High family, who share close ties with Seok Ji-won and Yoon Ji-won, adds another layer to the story. Lee Si-woo plays 'Gong Moon-soo', a student teacher in the physical education department who has a crush on Yoon Ji-won. Kim Ye-won plays 'Cha Ji-hye', a childhood friend of Seok Ji-won and Yoon Ji-won who witnessed their daily fights. Jeon Hye-jin plays 'Maeng Soo-ah', a math teacher and Yoon Ji-won's best friend, while Lee Seung-joon plays 'Ji Kyung-hoon', the administrative director of Dokmok High, enriching the drama with their performances.
The production team of 'Love on a Single Log Bridge' stated, "The 'hate relationship' romance of these same-age characters, who meet again as adults after their glorious school days, will offer delightful excitement and laughter. Look forward to the chemistry between Joo Ji-hoon and Jung Yu-mi, who perfectly embody their characters, as well as the passionate performances of the cast in this story of rival families spanning three generations."
'Love on a Single Log Bridge' will premiere on November 23 at 9:20 PM.
