Shim Hyung-tak and Saya Reveal Gender of Their Baby Due in January

Shim Hyung-tak and his wife Saya have revealed the gender of their baby, who is expected to be born in January next year.

On the 11th episode of Channel A's 'Men's Life These Days - Groom Class' (hereafter referred to as 'Groom Class'), Shim Hyung-tak discovered that their baby is a boy during a 'Gender Reveal Party' prepared by his wife Saya. He expressed his determination to be a friend-like father.

Saya visited the obstetrician alone to confirm the baby's gender. When Shim Hyung-tak, who was late due to work, arrived at the hospital, he immediately asked, "I think the gender might be revealed today. What did the doctor say?" However, Saya kept him in suspense by saying, "The baby hasn't shown it yet."

Later, the couple visited a baby fair, known as a 'sanctuary for expectant parents,' where they enjoyed shopping for various baby products. After shopping, they headed to a restaurant they frequently visit. Upon entering, Shim Hyung-tak was surprised and touched by the 'Gender Reveal Party' setup that Saya had secretly prepared.

Saya had decorated the restaurant with 'Gender Reveal Party' items while Shim Hyung-tak was at work. She even hung dinosaur balloons for their baby, who is due in the Year of the Dragon in January 2025. Saya also conducted a survey among family and friends to predict the baby's gender, which resulted in a tie of 15 votes each for 'boy' and 'girl.'

At this moment, Shim Hyung-tak expressed his wish for a daughter who resembles Saya, saying, "I've even imagined the scene of her getting married, and it made me emotional," causing laughter among the studio mentors.

The time to reveal the baby's gender finally arrived. At Saya's request to share memories with their child, Shim Hyung-tak recorded a video message for their baby. In the message, he said, "Whether you're a boy or a girl, we're just so happy and grateful that you came to us. Mom and Dad will raise you beautifully."

Immediately after, they popped a black balloon, and blue confetti revealed that their baby is a boy. The 'studio mentors' applauded enthusiastically, and Shim Hyung-tak promised, "I'll be a friend-like dad. I can give him all my toys," concluding the 'Gender Reveal Party.'
