Profiler Pyo Chang-won has revealed that his family has been threatened due to his line of work.

On the Channel A show 'Best Friends Talkumentary: Four-Person Dining Table' (hereafter 'Four-Person Dining Table') aired on the 2nd, profiler Pyo Chang-won and his son Pyo Jin-woo appeared. The guests included actor Jung Eun-pyo, criminal psychologist Park Ji-sun, and lawyer Son Su-ho.

Pyo Chang-won appeared with his handsome son. His 21-year-old son, Pyo Jin-woo, is a former soccer player currently studying business in the UK. Pyo Chang-won remarked, "He looks just like me in my 20s. It's like looking in a mirror." His son humorously responded, "I'm not too thrilled about hearing that," eliciting laughter.

Pyo Chang-won disclosed, "Given my job dealing with violent crimes, my family has been exposed to dangerous situations and threats from criminals."

He recounted, "In 2006, a serial killer sued me for defamation, claiming I portrayed his crimes negatively. When I met him face-to-face, he said, 'Do you think I'll be here forever? Once I get out, the first thing I'll do is kill your family.'"

Despite efforts to protect his family, criminals gathered small pieces of information from interviews. When his daughter was 8 or 9 years old, strangers came to their home when she was alone, and at a bus stop, a van with an obscured license plate approached her, telling her to get in. These incidents happened multiple times.

Pyo Chang-won speculated, "I thought maybe that guy had orchestrated it." He added, "Our children received crime prevention education from a young age. My daughter even played crime scenarios as a game." He expressed his regret, saying, "I always feel sorry for my family. They were exposed to crime photos at home, causing trauma. My family has always had a hard time because of me."

Regarding his daughter, Pyo Chang-won shared, "She is about to enter a PhD program in crime science in the UK. She has a 'crime DNA,' so to speak." He proudly added, "I recommended psychology to her, hoping she wouldn't follow this path, but her highest scores were in criminal psychology." He also mentioned, "She is skilled in martial arts like Taekwondo, Kendo, and boxing. She wants to work for crime victims." His son expressed admiration for his father, saying, "Dad is someone I'm proud of. He is honest and strong. There's a lot to learn from him."

Pyo Chang-won revealed that his family runs a crime science research institute together. He is the director, his wife is the planning director, his daughter is the research team leader, and his son works part-time.

He also shared some good news, saying, "I have completed a detective novel I've been writing for 10 years." He confessed, "I was concerned about the realism. I kept stopping and rewriting it to meet readers' expectations, which took 10 years."
