Park Ha-sun and Ryu Soo-young, Why There Is No Couple Fight
On the September 30th episode of KBS2's variety show 'New Release, Pyeonstorang' (hereafter 'Pyeonstorang'), Ryu Soo-young, along with his close friend Jay Written, will take on the challenge of making jeon that even husbands can easily follow. Ryu Soo-young's statement, "If husbands make jeon, there will be no holiday fights," has piqued viewers' curiosity.
In the VCR to be aired, Ryu Soo-young says, "Chuseok, the great national holiday, is approaching. The number one stressor during holidays is 'making jeon,'" adding, "If husbands make jeon, peace will be achieved." He continues, "Men, let's make jeon. Let's keep the peace at home," and assures, "If you follow my instructions, you can make jeon without much effort. You'll also realize that just eating the jeon without helping was wrong."
The easy jeon-making process begins in earnest. Ryu Soo-young and Jay Written spread newspapers widely on the living room floor, don aprons, and sit down. They prepare two pans and start with the most basic of all jeon, pollack jeon. Thanks to Ryu Soo-young's friendly tips, even Jay Written, who is new to making jeon, succeeds perfectly.
Ryu Soo-young doesn't stop there and reveals another simple jeon recipe: eggplant jeon. Jay Written hesitates, saying, "I really hate eggplants," to which Ryu Soo-young confidently responds, "I've made this for many people, and even those who dislike eggplants ended up enjoying it." Reportedly, Jay Written's aversion to eggplants was cured in one bite of the 1,000 won eggplant jeon.
After showcasing two easy jeon recipes, Ryu Soo-young quickly makes a special dipping sauce that can elevate jeon to a gourmet dish. Ryu Soo-young's declaration, "If husbands make jeon, there will be no holiday fights," and his easy jeon recipes and special dipping sauce can be seen on 'New Release, Pyeonstorang' airing at 8:30 PM.
