Jang Nara Learns of Han Jae-yi's Deeds
Jang Nara's character erupts in anger upon discovering Han Jae-yi's misdeeds.

In the 8th episode of SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Good Partner,' which aired on the 23rd, Cha Eun-kyung (played by Jang Nara) and Kim Ji-sang (played by Ji Seung-hyun) undergo a domestic investigation procedure over the custody of their daughter, Kim Jae-hee (played by Yuna). The revelation of Kim Jae-hee's emotional scars and Choi Sa-ra's (played by Han Jae-yi) pregnancy news heightened the tension. The episode's viewership ratings soared to 15.3% in the metropolitan area, 14.6% nationwide, and peaked at 18.8%.

The custody battle between Cha Eun-kyung and Kim Ji-sang continued. Kim Ji-sang was busy undermining Cha Eun-kyung during the domestic investigation to gain custody. Cha Eun-kyung countered by arguing that she had been the primary breadwinner for their child. Kim Ji-sang's twisted remarks, suggesting that her career advancement was more important, left Cha Eun-kyung feeling invalidated and tearful with anger and guilt towards Jae-hee. The conflict between the two was reaching its climax.

As Cha Eun-kyung mentioned her struggles as a working mom to gain the domestic investigator's sympathy, Kim Ji-sang grew anxious. Following lawyer Kang Sang-joo's (played by Kim Byung-chun) advice that the child's opinion is paramount, Kim Ji-sang decided to distance himself from Choi Sa-ra. However, Choi Sa-ra unexpectedly announced her pregnancy, showing Kim Ji-sang an ultrasound photo, leaving him in shock. Meanwhile, the domestic environment investigation began. Kim Jae-hee spent time with Kim Ji-sang, enjoying a day at an amusement park before meeting the domestic investigator at Kim Ji-sang's home. Despite her brave front, saying, "Adults should be honest with me first, then I'll be honest," Kim Jae-hee's silent sobbing before sleep was heart-wrenching.

Choi Sa-ra devised a scheme to separate Kim Jae-hee from Kim Ji-sang. She secretly placed the ultrasound photo where Kim Jae-hee could find it and shamelessly asked her to tell the domestic investigator that she wanted to live with her mom, saying, "It's your sibling. You'll be a good sister, right?" Despite the hurtful words, Kim Jae-hee was only concerned about Cha Eun-kyung.

During the second domestic environment investigation at Cha Eun-kyung's home, Kim Jae-hee's relieved expression eased Cha Eun-kyung's worries. However, the investigator's revelations were shocking. Kim Jae-hee had known about her father's affair with Choi Sa-ra before her mother and mentioned having a half-sibling. This led to uncontrollable shock and anger. Kim Jae-hee's words, "Mom keeps lying to protect me. I want to protect her feelings," and Han Yoo-ri's (played by Nam Ji-hyun) narration, "Just as parents love their children in their own ways, children might also be striving to protect their parents' love and sincerity," touched viewers deeply.

Jung Woo-jin (played by Kim Jun-han) took on the custody case of client Park Ji-hwan (played by Choi Deok-moon) at Cha Eun-kyung's request. The case seemed straightforward, with the son (played by Yoon Sang-hyun) favoring his father, but an unexpected challenge arose during the hearing. It was revealed that Park Ji-hwan and his son were not biologically related. Jung Woo-jin decided to file a paternity suit to resolve the issue and reclaim the child support paid.

However, Park Ji-hwan chose to withdraw the lawsuit. Despite Jung Woo-jin and Jeon Eun-ho's (played by Pyo Ji-hoon) attempts to dissuade him, Park Ji-hwan was resolute, saying, "If it's officially stated that he's not my son, I can't live. He's my son." His words moved Jung Woo-jin. Ultimately, Park Ji-hwan gave up custody, and Jung Woo-jin secured unlimited visitation rights, concluding the case. Park Ji-hwan's decision to continue being a father to the son he raised for 18 years, despite not being biologically related, was deeply moving.

The episode ended with Cha Eun-kyung confronting Choi Sa-ra in a fit of rage, heightening the tension. Additionally, it was revealed that Jung Woo-jin is the son of the firm's managing partner, Oh Dae-kyu (played by Jung Jae-sung), drawing attention. Solving Park Ji-hwan's case and witnessing the deep bond between father and son left Jung Woo-jin in deep thought. His trembling voice as he called the sleeping Oh Dae-kyu "Father" hinted at hidden stories between them.

The 9th episode of 'Good Partner' airs today (24th) at 10 PM.
