Jeong Ae-ri, sniping her ex-husband
Actress Jung Ae-ri revealed the reason for her divorce from her ex-husband.
Jeong Ae-ri appeared on MBN's 'Dongchimi', which aired on the 10th.
On this day, Jeong Ae-ri said, "My ex-husband did an interview saying that he got divorced because of his volunteer work. Honestly, I don't know why I want to hear about other people's divorce stories. When I looked up the article, it said, 'I wanted to actively volunteer, but my wife Jeong Ae-ri wanted to volunteer quietly, so it didn't work out.' I don't know much about that either."
She continued, "This is my first time revealing my personal life on TV. I was cautious because I thought I might offend my ex-husband, so I just ignored him without much reaction, but now that it's been reported, I feel I have to explain myself." She continued, "I've always valued volunteer work, and I've been good at it and enjoyed it. Of course, if you do it for decades, you get tired and it can be hard. I was moved when my ex-husband said we should overcome the hardships together. At first, I never even imagined remarrying, but I decided to remarry because of his considerate attitude. We lived together for about three years, but there were various problems. That's why I decided to get a divorce."
She recalled, "We planned to have a quiet wedding, inviting only our family, but the wedding date and location were exposed to the media. My ex-husband said it was uncomfortable. However, it was difficult to change the wedding date, so we coordinated the date with the officiant and moved the wedding date up a day before. I remember that there was a live broadcast early in the morning the day after the wedding." Jung Ae-ri, who tried to get along while helping out at her husband's large cafe, revealed, "Contrary to expectations, small conflicts arose. In the end, trust is the most important thing, and that was broken. Even thinking back now, what was shocking was that not long after we got married, I went out to eat with my daughter and got severe food poisoning. I threw up all the food and couldn't move, but I think my mother called her son-in-law because she was worried. But my ex-husband said, 'Why are you telling me that?' I thought, 'What's going on?' at his indifference, but that wasn't the reason for the divorce. I think there were a lot of things that I couldn't empathize with."
Jeong Ae-ri said that she helped her ex-husband a lot financially, and said, "I thought that as a wife, I should take care of that part. I think I did everything I could."
Jeong Ae-ri got married in 1985 and had a daughter, but divorced in 2005. After that, Jeong Ae-ri remarried to Ji Seung-ryong, the CEO of Dandelion Territory, in April 2011, but the marriage ended in divorce after three years in 2014.
