Kim Hee-jung was sad when she was unknown
In episode 94 of tvN STORY's 'Chairman's People', which aired on the 29th, a day with actors Lee Jong-won, Kim Hee-jung, and Lee Jeong-yong was depicted.
Kim Hee-jung has met through various relationships, including the cast of 'The Chairman's People', the 'OK Like' celebrity volunteer group, and seniors and juniors in her university department. Kim Hee-jung confessed that she and Lim Ho were senior-junior alumni and that they went to their first MT together. At the time, Kim Hee-jung weighed more than 60 kg and was very fleshy, so her nickname was ‘Golden Cage.’ Kim Hee-jung recalled an anecdote from the past and revealed the reason why she decided to go on a diet. Kim Hee-jung confessed, "Once upon a dinner party, the director asked me, 'Don't you have a dream?' That was the standard for actresses at the time. After hearing that, I decided to lose weight and started dieting." He then said, “I am currently at my lowest weight,” and is maintaining the 40 kg range.
Kim Hee-jung, who is in her 33rd year of debut, began acting as a talent in SBS's first public recruitment. Kim Hee-jung said, "I didn't have a manager and only worked there. Around that time, there was 'Love and War' on KBS. I thought I wouldn't sing anything like that. There are a lot of people our age who appear there. I wish they would go out there, but I thought they wouldn't come in, but one day they came in. “That’s how I started,” he recalled. Kim Yong-gun wondered, “What was your main role? Did you also have an affair?” Kim Hee-jung laughed, saying, "A woman who has an affair cannot play the main character. Because she has to go to court, she has to be a mistress. A mistress who is a mistress only causes discord. I was a mistress who was a mistress in my own way."
‘Love and War’ is a non-drama produced by the Culture Bureau. The actors were reluctant to appear because of the atmosphere at the time. Kim Hee-jung said, "I thought that if you worked hard for about 10 years, you would get promoted as an actor. But even if you worked for 10 years, nothing changed. I didn't rest with small roles. I worked, but I was always thirsty. After 10 years, I finally got the role of a fixed role. “It’s not like I can go up just because I work hard. I became more confident when I decided that I couldn’t do it unless someone called me.” He continued, "Such a show was created on KBS, and a lot of people my age appeared on it, so I wanted to do it. But people watching it were like, 'Heejeong, are you hungry?' 'I'm happy doing this here, but why do people ignore me? 'Am I doing something wrong?' When I asked my seniors for advice, they said, ‘Whatever you do, do it with your soul,’ but behind their backs, they said, ‘They’re still doing that?’ “That’s right,” he said, shedding tears.
Kim Yong-gun comforted himself by saying, "Why isn't there a conflict like this? I was there too. But I couldn't get over that hurdle. I overcame it and said, 'I too will see the bright light outside the tunnel someday.' I overcame it well."
Kim Hee-jung said, "Through that program, writer Moon Young-nam saw me. He cast me in 'Seven Famous Princesses.' He said, 'I am enjoying your acting. He said that he looked at the scroll of 'Love and War' to find out the name Kim Hee-jung and found out the name Kim Hee-jung. “I was shocked. That’s how my relationship with the teacher started. If I hadn’t done ‘Love and War,’ the relationship wouldn’t have come to this point and I wouldn’t be where I am today.” He also added, “I was happy while doing it, and my mom was happy that I showed up a lot.”
