Actor Kim Min-gyu, who is attempting a historical drama for the first time since his debut, revealed that he lost 13 kg for the work.

On the morning of the 12th, a production presentation for MBN's new weekend miniseries 'The Crown Prince Disappeared' was held at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Seoul. Actors Su-ho, Hong Ye-ji, Myung Se-bin, Kim Joo-heon, Kim Min-gyu, and director Kim Jin-man, who directed the film, attended the scene that day.

'The Crown Prince Disappeared' is a Joseon version of a romantic comedy that depicts the story of Crown Prince Lee Geon (Suho), who lived a solid life, being bossed around by Choi Myeong-yoon (Hong Ye-ji), the woman who would become the Crown Princess. Kim Min-gyu played the role of Prince Doseong, the eldest son of Haejong's second wife, Jungjeon Yoon, and the half-brother of Crown Prince Lee Geon.

Director Kim Jin-man, who was in charge of directing the film, praised Min-gyu Kim, saying, "I encouraged him to learn English quickly. He is an actor who can surpass American movie star Timothee Chalamet. I encouraged him to advance to Hollywood." I stopped. Regarding this, Kim Min-gyu smiled and shyly said, "My opinion was not reflected in what the director said. I am just grateful."

Kim Min-gyu said, “I worked hard and lost 13 kg to play the character of ‘Boy in Luv.’ It’s a character I’ve never shown before, so I put in a lot of effort.” He continued, "I've gained a little weight now. The director recommended I go on a diet, but I lost too much, so the director told me to gain weight again. I gained 5kg." He then revealed his extraordinary will and effort toward the work, saying, “I was dizzy to the point where I couldn’t see.”
