'Divorce suit' Hwang Jung-eum makes official appearance

Actress Hwang Jung-eum will make her first public appearance since announcing her divorce.

According to SBS on the 14th, a production presentation for 'The Resurrection of the Seven' will be held at SBS Hall on the afternoon of the 27th. Director Oh Joon-hyuk and actors Eom Ki-jun, Hwang Jeong-eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yoo-bi, Shin Eun-kyung, Yoon Jong-hoon, Jo Yoon-hee, Yoon Tae-young, and Lee Jung-shin will attend the event.

Above all, Hwang Jung-eum is attracting attention as she makes her first official appearance after announcing that she was in the middle of a divorce suit last month.

In 2016, Hwang Jung-eum married professional golfer-turned-businessman Mr. A and they had two sons. They reunited after filing for divorce mediation in 2020, but the relationship broke up again four years later. An agency official explained to this magazine, "After much consideration, Hwang Jung-eum has decided that it is no longer possible to maintain the marriage and is in the process of filing for divorce." Accordingly, Hwang Jung-eum's first official appearance after announcing her divorce will be the production presentation for 'Resurrection of the Seven'.

Previously, Hwang Jung-eum announced that she was in the process of filing for divorce from her husband, professional golfer and businessman Lee Young-don. They announced the breakup of their relationship in 2020, and even announced the news of their second son after reuniting, but ultimately decided to divorce after four years.

In particular, Hwang Jung-eum posted a photo of Lee Young-don on social media a day before announcing her divorce, and started a war of words with netizens who left comments on the post, garnering attention.

In response to the comment, "Honestly, if you're talented and rich, you won't get angry with just one girl. If you don't understand how a rich man cheats, you shouldn't date him," Hwang Jung-eum responded, "I have 1,000 times more money. Just make fun of me and say you know something. Then I'll be better off with money." He refuted, “I’m better off, so it’s right for me to cheat, if that’s what you think.” Accordingly, some are saying that the reason for the divorce is the husband's fault.

Hwang Jung-eum's agency explained, "After much deliberation, Hwang Jung-eum has decided that it is difficult to maintain the marriage any longer and is in the process of filing for divorce."
