'Child role of Jung Woo-sung' Baek Seong-cheol "I felt pressured, but I am proud as an actor"

Rookie Baek Seong-cheol, who made a mark as the younger version of Jung Woo-sung in 'Tell Me You Love Me', shared his thoughts on the end of the show.




In Genie TV's original 'Tell Me I Love You' (directed by Kim Yun-jin/writer Kim Min-jung/planned by KT Studio Genie/produced by Studio & New and Artist Studio), Baek Seong-cheol showed off his strong presence by playing the 20-something hand-talking painter Cha Jin-woo (played by Jung Woo-sung). On the 17th, he expressed his thoughts on completing the work through his agency Keyeast, raising expectations for his future activities.




First, Baek Seong-cheol said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the director, all production staff, and seniors. “It was such an honor to be able to work together,” he said, expressing his gratitude to those who worked with him on the project.




He added, “I knew very well what senior Jung Woo-sung was like in his 20s, so I felt pressured to portray him in those times, but I was thankful that many people recognized my efforts and looked at me kindly as I practiced and worked hard, and I was proud as an actor.” It gave us a glimpse into the traces that he put a lot of thought and research into the character.




Lastly, he concluded his remarks by saying, “I would like to thank the viewers who have shown a lot of love and interest in the role of Cha Jin-woo, who is in his 20s.” He added, “I will continue to study harder and do my best to become a growing actor, so please watch over me.”




Baek Seong-cheol, who showed a high-quality sign language performance in this work, attracted attention by conveying the character's emotional state only through detailed eyes and facial expressions, not through dialogue. The immersion in the play was doubled by expressing in detail the polarizing emotions of love felt for the first time and the sadness felt upon being informed of a breakup. The warm visuals were added to this, raising viewers' curiosity and expectations about actor Baek Sung-cheol at the same time.
