Shim Hyun-seop, '3000 pyeong mansion' was Shim Hye-jin's nephew

Actress Shim Hye-jin, who lives in a 3,000-pyeong mansion in Gapyeong and runs a resort, was the aunt of comedian Shim Hyun-seop.

On this day, Shim Hyun-seop, who is 53 years old and single, met Shim Hye-jin, a member of the Cheongsong Shim family, comedian Shim Jin-hwa, and broadcaster Shim Hee-jae. Shim Hye-jin was four years older than Shim Hyun-seop, but she was the age of Sim Hyun-seop's aunt, and Shim Jin-hwa was the lowest in rank. Shim Hyeon-seop said about Shim Hye-jin, “When the movie ‘Ginkgo Bed’ was filmed, my mom said, ‘Your aunt appeared.’ After she debuted as a comedian, the first time she met her on TV, she said she was her aunt.”

Shim Hye-jin said, "I was a fan. I don't usually laugh when I watch comedy programs, but when I saw 'Morning in the Savannah,' I laughed like a psychopath. I was proud." After Shim Hyun-seop's mother passed away, Shim Hye-jin even gave Shim Hyun-seop a room at the resort she runs. Shim Hyun-seop expressed his gratitude, saying, "When I'm sleeping in my room at 7:30 in the morning, I say, 'Eat, eat,' close the door, and leave. My aunt filled in my mother's vacancy."

Shim Hyun-seop's mother passed away five years ago after suffering from cerebral infarction for 12 years. Shim Hyun-seop's father, Shim Sang-woo, was a member of the National Assembly and passed away in the Aung San terrorist attack in Myanmar in 1983. Shim Hyun-seop recalled, "I woke up and opened my eyes, and the TV screen showed condolences and incense, and my father's name appeared on the list of dead people. I thought it was a dream. My mother just collapsed after watching TV."

Shim Hyun-seop said about his father, "He was a fun, generous, and family-oriented person. He didn't have much interest in politics, so I feel even more sorry as a child." He added, "My mother suffered a lot. I grew up watching that all the time. My mother must have been in pain since she lost her husband. “Because I’m a celebrity, people who see my mother talk about my father. I can’t imagine how stressful it must have been.”

Just three years after his debut, Shim Hyun-seop rose to the top of the list of 'the best comedians with personal skills' and has been on the rise. Junior comedian Park Jun-hyung testified about Sim Hyun-seop's popularity at the time, saying, "A building located at the intersection of Gangnam Station was owned by Shim Hyun-seop. He earned 300 million won a day." However, Shim Hyun-seop revealed that his mother was defrauded by an acquaintance and incurred a debt of 1.5 billion won, which she had to repay. Shim Hyun-seop said, “I had to repay my debt when I made a profit, so I gave it all to my mother.”
