Jang Geun-seok, Heo Seong-tae's 'Bait', the first ambitious work of Coupang Play in 2023

The Coupang Play series 'Bait' is a crime thriller that traces the secrets surrounding the culprit of the biggest fraud in history as he is identified as a suspect in a murder case eight years after his death. 'Bait' is expected to captivate viewers with a solid story that moves between a mysterious murder case taking place in the present and a fraud case that shook Korea in the past, unpredictable and shocking developments and twists, and flawless performances from the main supporting actors.
'Bait' is the return of global star Jang Geun-suk after five years, and the fresh casting combination alone, including Heo Seong-tae's passionate performance as an all-time villain character and the presence of Lee Elijah, who plays an axis in the narrative that goes back and forth between the present and the past, raises expectations. In addition, director Kim Hong-seon, a master of the genre who directed 'Voice', 'The Guest', and 'House of Paper: Joint Economic Zone', will take the lead and present the essence of a well-made crime thriller.
In the released first poster of 'Bait', there is a tense relationship between Jang Geun-suk, who plays Goo Do-han, a just detective trying to uncover the truth of the case, and Heo Seong-tae, who plays the role of Noh Sang-cheon, a rare criminal who holds clues to a past fraud case and a current murder case. The confrontation structure stands out. The simple yet powerful copy of ;You have to catch to live VS You have to die to live; adds even more interest to the confrontation between the two people. This is where interest is focused on the paradoxical meaning of the saying, “You have to die to live.”

The Coupang Play series 'Bait' will be released twice a week starting January 27, and Part 1, which consists of a total of 6 episodes, will be presented first. Part 2 is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2023.
