Lee Gyeong-gyu received the ‘Achievement Award’, what should I do about the humiliation?
In the 45th episode of MBC's entertainment show 'Family Register Mate', which aired on the 3rd, the story of Lee Gyeong-gyu, who went fishing with his daughter Ye-rim and son-in-law Kim Young-chan, was depicted.
Lee Gyeong-gyu went down to Changwon at the suggestion of his son-in-law, Kim Young-chan, to go fishing together. The three people who went to Jinhae sea for boat fishing tried rock octopus fishing. Gyeong-gyu Lee, who was excited about the idea of fishing with his daughter and son-in-law, gave a lecture to them, revealing his knowledge to them. When Kim Young-chan saw his father-in-law like that, his eyes lit up and he expressed infinite trust, saying, “Your father will definitely take care of you.”
But the fishing results were disastrous. Despite the continued challenges, the bite did not come easily. Lee Gyeong-gyu was even more frustrated as he missed the octopus even after taking two bites. Lee Gyeong-gyu, who is gradually losing his ability to speak, Kim Young-chan, who becomes awkward with his father-in-law, and even Ye-rim, who is worried about her father's prestige. The situation for the three people on the boat took an unintended direction. It was a humiliation for Lee Gyeong-gyu, winner of the 2022 MBC ‘Broadcast Entertainment Awards’ Achievement Award and self-proclaimed ‘son of the Dragon King’.
Still, Lee Gyeong-gyu did not give up until the end. Kim Young-chan also continued to protect Lee Gyeong-gyu. Even though it was a little cringy, I kept talking to Lee Gyeong-gyu. As if the sea wanted to break the awkwardness between the two, an octopus was finally caught on Lee Gyeong-gyu's fishing rod five and a half hours after starting fishing. The three people built happy memories together in that moment, which was even more emotional because they had waited so long.
After successfully fishing for octopus, Lee Gyeong-gyu and Yerim-Kim Young-chan caught a large amount of mackerel. Those who returned home with a heavy harvest enjoyed a late-night snack together. Lee Gyeong-gyu made stewed mackerel, boiled octopus, and cuttlefish sashimi using old paper he personally brought. While Yerim, who was tired from fishing, took a break, Lee Gyeong-gyu and Kim Young-chan finished cooking together.
Lee Gyeong-gyu and Kim Young-chan, who became closer friends by fishing and cooking together, have already made plans for their next fishing trip. Lee Gyeong-gyu suggested, “Next time, let’s go on a fishing trip for 5 days and 4 nights,” and Kim Young-chan responded, “Yes, I like it,” and Yerim shook her head and said, “Next time, we’ll go together,” making people burst into laughter.
