Eunjin Ahn, the female protagonist who shines when she falls and falls
‘Lover’ Ahn Eun-jin shines the more she faces a crisis.

Aegi, who grew up in a noble family. An independent and strong woman who received a child for the first time during the evacuation of the Manchu War and killed a barbarian without hesitation to save her friends. A woman who had no choice but to let go of the hand of the man she loved like his life in order to protect her family and precious people. It's all about Yoo Gil-chae (played by Ahn Eun-jin), the female protagonist of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Lovers' (planned by Hong Seok-woo/directed by Kim Seong-yong/Lee Han-joon by Cheon Su-jin/written by Hwang Jin-young).

Yu Gil-chae's growth into an independent and strong woman while experiencing the Manchu War was one of the important stories of 'Lovers' Part 1. Viewers were enthusiastic about being able to meet an independent female protagonist like Yoo Gil-chae in a historical drama set in the Joseon Dynasty, and Ahn Eun-jin's acting, which faced and worked hard for this, drew rave reviews. In Part 2 of ‘Lovers’, Yoo Gil-chae also faced the crisis independently without collapsing.

In episode 12 of 'Lovers', which aired on October 14, Yoo Gil-chae suddenly became a runaway prisoner and was taken to Shenyang of the Qing Dynasty. Yu Gil-chae found out that her servant Jong-yi (played by Park Jeong-yeon) was tired and offered her plaything. She asked for her hands to be released so that she could take out the norigae, but when she was refused, she said, “If you can, just put your hand in and take it out yourself,” even though she was a nobleman’s wife. After enduring the humiliation, she gave up the seat on the carriage, not to herself, but to her servant Jongjongi. Like when he climbed the mountain carrying Bangdune (played by Kwon So-hyun), who was a servant at the time of evacuation but had just given birth.

Jong-jong told Yu Gil-chae to ask Lee Jang-hyeon for help when they reach Shenyang. However, Yu Gil-chae flatly refused. Because she knows how much Lee Jang-hyun loves her, and although she loves him too, she coldly left his side to protect her family, she is so grateful and sorry for Lee Jang-hyun that she appears in front of him with this miserable appearance, causing him great sorrow and damage. It was something I never wanted to give.

Instead, while being dragged away, Yu Gil-chae bit his own finger and left a blood letter asking Hanyang's family to save him. Even after arriving in Shenyang, Yu Gil-chae was faced with an endless crisis. Hot water was almost poured all over my body, and my fingers were almost cut off. I was also in a situation where I had to serve as a bed attendant for a powerful person in the Qing Dynasty. To overcome this crisis, Yu Gil-chae inflicted a large wound on his forehead. In the end, Yu Gil-chae avoided serving as a bed attendant, but was taken and imprisoned in a prisoner of war market where Koreans were treated worse than animals.

At the end of the broadcast, Yoo Gil-chae took advantage of the commotion at the Poro Market and escaped. I ran and ran with all my might, holding Jongjong's hand tightly. Sharp arrows rained down from behind from prisoner hunter Gak-hwa (played by Lee Cheong-ah), but Yu Gil-chae ran without stopping. Then she sensed something and turned around, and there was Lee Jang-hyun. It was a powerful ending that made viewers' hearts stop as they wondered whether the two would be able to reunite.

Yoo Gil-chae is a person who shines when faced with a crisis. Not only does he have quick situational judgment and wit, but he also has vitality and a strong will to protect precious people. Therefore, it does not fall over or collapse easily. She is an independent, strong, and unprecedented female protagonist in a historical drama. And it is thanks to Ahn Eun-jin's passionate performance that Yu Gil-chae's true value was able to shine. Entering Part 2, you can guess Ahn Eun-jin's desperate efforts and passion just by looking at the pale and thin appearance of Yoo Gil-chae.

Yoo Gil-chae, the female protagonist of an unprecedented and special historical drama. Actress Ahn Eun-jin portrays Yoo Gil-chae perfectly. This is why you have to keep waiting and watching ‘Lovers’. MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Lovers' airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
