Kyung-ho Jeong, “Working with Do-yeon Jeon, the glory of the family”

With 'Ilta Scandal' set to premiere on January 14th, Jung Kyung-ho, who is expected to create another new life character through his role as Choi Chi-yeol, Korea's best Ilta instructor, told an honest story about the work.
'Ilta Scandal' is a work that depicts the bittersweet romance between the passionate owner of a national side dish store and a Korean math instructor who unfolds in the battlefield of private education. Jung Kyung-ho plays the role of Choi Chi-yeol, a math instructor with the highest salary and popularity. He looks like a perfect man with a handsome appearance, wealth, and ability, but he suffers from an eating disorder that prevents him from feeling the happiness of a full stomach. Therefore, expectations are rising to see what kind of relationship she will have with Nam Haeng-seon, the owner of a side dish store and a former national handball player, to create a bittersweet romance.
Jung Kyung-ho, who has shown 'close' synchronization with his ability to portray three-dimensional characters in each work, is predicting another dazzling acting transformation through this work. In response, Jung Kyung-ho said, “It is a work with charm that can give many emotions, as can be felt from the genre of ‘bittersweet romance candle,’” and added, “I have always wanted to work with director Yoo Je-won, and I think I have seen almost all of writer Yang Hee-seung’s works. “And above all, it was a project where I could work with senior Jeon Do-yeon, so I chose it without any hesitation.” This part makes us even more excited about the synergy that will be created by the 'rom-com' dream team, which includes director Yoo Je-won, writer Yang Hee-seung, Jeon Do-yeon and Jung Kyung-ho, who complete the 'Trustworthy Jakgambae' lineup.
Next, Jung Kyung-ho answered about the charm of Choi Chi-yeol in the play, “I think the fact that he is the best instructor, but he is also human and has a lot of ‘trivial things’ will be an unexpected charm point.” Adding to this, “I think I spent a lot of time trying to know and understand math at first. But I think I realized early on that it was useless. (Laughs) So, first of all, I looked for lecture videos of various instructors, and listened to the classes myself and used them as a reference. “I also focused more on making the writing part, which I had never done before, look natural,” he said, showing the passion of actor Jeong Kyung-ho, who works hard to portray the character in the play.
The affectionate response to Jeon Do-yeon, with whom he acted for the first time in this work, also attracts attention. In the play, the relationship between Nam Haeng-seon and Choi Chi-yeol must be accompanied by heart-pounding excitement and tiki-taka chemistry that maintains tight romantic tension, so expectations for the two's acting together are also soaring.
In response, Jeong Kyung-ho said, “I think it is an honor for the family. “Still, every time I catch a two-shot from the same angle on camera, I think, ‘Ah, I did a good job working hard.’” He said about the charm of Haeng-seon’s character, saying, “In the play, Haeng-seon is a person who values his family more than anyone else, is strong, and is clear and transparent.” revealed.
Lastly, Kyeong-ho Jeong said, “The owner of a side dish store and the top instructor in the private education world, who seem unlikely to meet each other easily. “How these two people meet and what kind of love they develop, the process will deliver a unique excitement,” he said, expressing confidence.
'Ilta Scandal' will be aired for the first time on January 14th, following 'Remarriage: Light and Shadow'.
