Teo Yoo “I’m glad I passed the big mountain, comedy actors are great”

Teo Yoo spoke about the difficulties of the romantic comedy genre.

On the 13th, I met actor Yoo Tae-oh, who appeared in the Netflix series 'Love Battle', at a cafe in Anguk-dong, Seoul.

Teo Yoo played the role of top actor Nam Kang-ho. In the play, Nam Kang-ho debuted as an actor after studying abroad for a long time. After going through an unknown period, he is now maintaining his position as a top actor, receiving praise for everything from his brilliant appearance and brain to his donations and good deeds. Although he is called a romance master, he pathologically hates women due to a childhood trauma. He envies the action genre, not romance.

Teo Yoo, who attempted to play the lead role in a romantic comedy, expressed his feelings, saying, “I am happy and relieved to have overcome a big mountain.” He confessed, “I was 'refreshed' because the reaction was somewhat positive, and 'disappointed' was because I had regrets about my acting.” He continued, "As I am a Korean, the homework I always have to accomplish is to speak Korean as if it were my mother tongue. That is a challenge and I need to make an effort to overcome that. I believe that will happen and I hope you will watch my future works."

Teo Yoo, who challenged the romantic comedy genre, said, "I think genres such as drama, noir, and action immerse viewers through emotional scenes and give persuasiveness to characters by incorporating a series of processes. However, romantic comedy with comedy is more consequential .I think it captures the person's appearance. That's why I felt it was more difficult. That's why I think comedy actors, stand-up comedy, and open comedy comedians are great. Comedy seems to be the most difficult genre. How should you react to what the other actor did? “I acted while thinking,” he said.

'Love Battle' is a romantic comedy about a woman who pathologically hates losing to a man and a man who is pathologically suspicious of women, and are healed through a war-like love. It was released on the 10th.
