'I Am God' PD "Sensationalism? Ordinary people would feel devastated."

On the 10th, a press conference for the Netflix documentary 'I Am God: People Who God Betrayed' was held at the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul. Producer Cho Seong-hyeon, who directed the production, attended.
‘I Am God: The People God Betrayed’ is a Netflix documentary series that tracks the ‘Messiahs’ in modern Korean history and the events and people behind them. JMS dealt with the true nature of Jeong Myeong-seok. JMS President Myungseok Jeong was arrested and indicted on charges of committing sexual violence (quasi-rape, quasi-rape, quasi-rape, forcible molestation, forcible molestation) against two female believers on 17 occasions from 2018 to 2019, and was sentenced to the 12th Division of the Daejeon District Court Criminal Agreement (Presiding Judge Sang-hoon Na). ) is on trial. Previously, President Chung was sentenced to 10 years in prison on similar charges in April 2009 and was released in February 2018.
Viewers are responding that they cannot bear to see the explicit production, such as exposed breasts, exposed body hair, and the bodies of people who committed suicide with only their faces mosaiced.
PD Cho said, “I know there is a keyword called sensationalism. I think it's natural to have concerns about that. However, this is not a movie or entertainment show, it is a fact that someone actually suffered. “Please pay attention to that,” he emphasized. He then raised the issue, saying, “Many media and broadcasts have covered this incident so far, but I would like to ask the question, how did these religious groups exist and how did this happen repeatedly?”
PD Cho said, “I think there are a couple of things that are controversial. ‘I Cum 50 Times’ is a transcript of Jung Myung-seok and Maple. (I tried to include) how JMS educates believers. They say it was manipulated through AI, and this is not the first time a scene showing naked women in a bathtub has been broadcast. “It has been in a mosaic state several times before,” he explained. PD Cho conveyed the religious group’s position. He said, “I will tell you exactly what I said there. The first explanation was, ‘Women who sell their bodies received money and intentionally manipulated it to create such videos.’ And it was said that an insider made a mistake and disclosed it. Then he said that it was a video taken while wearing a bikini swimsuit.”
Regarding the reason for showing it so clearly, PD Cho said, “I think that if we don’t show the truth as it is, we will build another defense for the people inside. “It’s something that is shown very clearly, and I think at least one or two of the people in it will understand the truth and come out,” he emphasized. Also, “Regarding provocativeness, are there people who see it and think it’s sex appeal? It's so horrible and ugly. Mr. Myungseok Jung may have felt it was sensational, but I think ordinary men and women would feel devastated when they see it. Netflix also expressed concerns about including such a scene. However, from the producer’s perspective, I had to include ‘I wrapped it 50 times’ at the very beginning.”
