Choo Young-woo was taken to a training camp, tortured, and became a spy.

On the 13th, in the KBS2 Monday-Tuesday drama 'Oasis', the demo comrades were dragged around by threats from Oh Man-ok (Jin Yi-han), a subordinate of Lee Doo-hak (played by Jang Dong-yoon) and Hwang Chung-seong (played by Jeon No-min), who could not forget Oh Jung-shin (played by Seol In-ah) and were hovering around them. The story of Choi Cheol-woong (Chu Young-woo), who is cornered and vents his resentment, is depicted.
According to Nielsen Korea, a viewership rating research company, on the 14th, the third episode of 'Oasis', which aired the previous day, recorded 6.6% nationwide and 6.5% in the metropolitan area, maintaining its position as the No. 1 Monday-Tuesday drama. The scene that recorded the highest viewer rating per minute was the scene where Cheol-woong is threatened by Man-ok, which soared to 7.4% nationwide and 7.5% in the metropolitan area.
Previously, the third episode of 'Oasis' added excitement by rapidly unfolding the changes in the three youths, Doo-hak, Jung-shin, and Cheol-woong, after Doo-hak's imprisonment. Doo-hak disappears after telling Jeong-sin that he is breaking up with her. He revealed his identity after saving Cheolwoong, who was being chased by the dictatorship. Doo-hak pretended not to be interested in Cheol-woong, who was talking about Jung-shin's pitiful situation, but he was immediately looking at Namhae Theater in Yeosu, where Jung-shin was, raising expectations for the two's reunion.
After watching the spirit being tormented by his aunt and uncle, Doo-hak instigated Go Pung-ho (played by Lee Han-wi), a former real estate fraud convict, and his gang to obtain the Namhae Theater registration certificate. He rounded up the Tak-i faction who showed up to take care of Pung-ho's gang, but became the target of Tak-i faction's boss, Yeom Gwang-tak (played by Han Jae-young) and the leader of the action, Yoo Young-pil (played by Jang Young-hyun). With this incident, Pungho's gang accepted Duhak as their family member and leader.
When Namhae Theater was in danger of being taken over by her aunt, Jung-shin visited Cha Geum-ok (played by Kang Ji-eun), a relative aunt of Ham Yang-ja (played by Hyun Seung-hee), and asked for help. Geum-ok kneeled down to Jeong-sin, who made a bold offer, and Jeong-sin decided to become Geum-ok's maid. When Jeong Shin came to Seoul, he happened to catch the eye of Doo Hak wherever he went. Duhak secretly followed the spirit to its abode and checked on it, and was happy listening to the spirit's voice on a public phone.
The story of Cheol-woong suffering from the threats of his loyal subordinate Man-ok was heartbreaking. Cheolwoong was caught demonstrating against the dictatorship, and Loyalty, who was on the dictatorship's side, had Manok harass Cheolwoong. As a descendant of a man of independence, Cheolwoong did not have to go to the military, but under orders of loyalty, he was taken to a training camp, where he was severely tortured. Man-ok pushed Cheol-woong to the limit by talking about mysterious deaths.
Cheolwoong decided to follow Manok's will in order to survive, but he also tried to protect his friends despite all kinds of threats and violence. However, his friends began to suspect that Cheolwoong, who was unharmed despite being injured, was a fraud. They took Cheolwoong away in front of Duhak, and when Cheolwoong did not return until morning, Duhak went to Cheolwoong's university.
He lied that Cheolwoong was not there and dealt with the college students alone, who blocked him with force. Doohak's head exploded and his lips were torn by dozens of students rushing at him at the same time, but he did not back down. The students returned Cheolwoong to Duhak with both hands and feet. Cheolwoong responded to his senior leader’s advice not to live in shame, saying, “I tried not to be ashamed even in the worst situations. If I was really a fraud, my brother and I wouldn't be here. Do you understand?” he poured out his resentment, causing regret.
He also appeared broken in front of Duhak. He endured pain and protected his comrades, but when he found himself in a situation where his comrades suspected him, the sadness he had held back for so long exploded. Duhak seemed to have already forgotten the pain he had suffered and carried Cheolwoong on his back. When Cheolwoong felt that Duhak still had affection for him, he behaved as foolishly as before.
When Cheol-woong asks Cheol-woong to go to Yeosu with him because he misses Jeong-sin, he spits out harsh words, “Why don’t you shut up and go quietly, you kid?”, but the warm image of Doo-hak carrying Cheol-woong until the end decorates the ending of episode 3, showing their difficult relationship. It raised expectations for recovery.
Doo-hak, who became an ex-convict, joined hands with Pung-ho's gang and started life at the bottom, but he could not ignore the pure love and friendship of his school days. Spirit, who dropped out of college and threw himself into Geum-ok to protect the Namhae Theater, still had a passion for movies and a heart for learning. Cheolwoong, who clung to Duhak out of fear of punishment, did not forget his past mistakes and suffered by fighting with himself.
'Oasis' is a drama that tells the story of three young people who fiercely sacrifice themselves to protect their dreams, friendship, and first love, the only love of their lives, set in the turbulent Republic of Korea from the 1980s to the 1990s. Episode 4 will be aired today (14th) at 9:50 PM.
