Jang Dong-yoon, 'Oasis' ranked first in Monday-Tuesday dramas for 5 consecutive times
'Oasis' Jang Dong-yoon risked his life to save the kidnapped Seol In-ah, and the shocking secret of their births that Jang Dong-yoon and Chu Young-woo are biological brothers were revealed, providing a twist.

In the 5th episode of KBS 2TV's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Oasis' on the 20th, the story of Lee Du-hak (played by Jang Dong-yoon) borrowed the power of Choi Cheol-woong (played by Choo Young-woo) to save the kidnapped Oh Jung-shin (played by Seol In-ah).

According to Nielsen Korea, an audience rating research company, the 5th episode of 'Oasis' recorded 6.5% nationwide and 5.9% in the metropolitan area, maintaining the top spot among Monday-Tuesday dramas for 5 consecutive episodes since its first broadcast. The scene that recorded the highest viewership rating per minute was 'The scene where a dramatic operation unfolds while Doo-hak is in danger of death', which rose to 7.9% nationwide.

From the beginning of episode 5, the shocking birth secret between Doo-hak and Cheol-woong was revealed. Cheolwoong was the second son of Lee Jung-ho (played by Kim Myung-soo) and Jeomamdaek (played by So Hee-jeong) and Doo-hak's younger brother. Jungho sent Cheolwoong as adopted son to Choi Yeongsik (played by Park Won-sang) and Kang Yeojin (played by Kang Kyung-heon), who had no heirs. Yeo-jin, who cannot have children, accepted Cheol-woong as her own child, but instead accepted Joong-ho's promise to keep this fact a secret until her death. Jeomamdaek, who was taken away by Yeojin as soon as Cheolwoong was born, was speechless.

Duhak's family found out that Duhak was a gangster. Among the Bangil Unemployed workers fighting against the evil boss was Duhak's younger sister, Lee Jeong-ok (played by Shin Yun-ha). Doo-hak went to hunt down the ringleader under the orders of Tak-i faction boss Yeom Gwang-tak (played by Han Jae-young), but his identity was discovered by Jeong-ok. To the angry Joong-ho, “This is all because of my father.” I gave up studying when they told me not to study, and I went to jail when they told me not to. Since I got out, the only thing I can do is act like a gangster... I'm definitely not my father's son," said Doo-hak, who poured out his resentment and expressed regret.

Cheolwoong's suffering after becoming a prosecutor did not end. Loyalty's subordinate Oh Man-ok (Jin Yi-han), a member of the National Intelligence Service, was dispatched to the prosecutor's office to monitor Cheol-woong. Cheol-woong was angry at Man-ok, who threatened him on the pretext of Cheol-woong's actions as a friend, saying, "I am Choi Cheol-woong, a prosecutor of the Republic of Korea." But he could not escape from him.

Cheolwoong, heartbroken, summoned his spirit. Jung-shin noticed that Cheol-woong's feelings for him were not light. She said, “You can’t handle me. It will make it harder for you. “Let’s just take it easy,” he said, rejecting Cheolwoong’s request. To Cheolwoong’s question, “Doohak can be hyung and I can’t?” Jungshin did not answer. However, he was distressed by the appearance of Duhak, whose mind had also changed.

Cha Geum-ok (played by Kang Ji-eun) made Jeong-Shin happy by gifting him a Namhae Theater registration certificate for demonstrating his abilities in the movie version. However, Spirit's unstoppable performance offended competitors who lost the existing distribution theaters, and he was eventually kidnapped. Geum-ok didn't pay any heed to the threats and fought vigorously. Ham Yang-ja (played by Hyun Seung-hee), who was worried about her mental well-being and tried to report it to the police, was also stopped, raising the curiosity of those watching.

The news of Jeong-sin's kidnapping also reached Duhak. It was an imminent situation where a surprise attack by Tak-i faction leader Yoo Young-pil (played by Jang Young-hyeon) was predicted, but mental safety was the priority for Doo-hak. Despite the dissuasion of Kim Hyeong-ju (played by Do Sang-woo), Doo-hak sent his subordinates to find the location of the spirit. Then, he was eventually ambushed by Yeongpil's gang, and due to being outnumbered, he was in danger of being stabbed by Yeongpil's sword. At this time, Gwangtak witnessed this scene and was able to escape the crisis.

All of this was Duhak's operation. The purpose was to induce a surprise attack on Yeongpil and stimulate Gwangtak's sympathy. To Doo-hak, who tried to keep his sanity even while being placed in a dramatic situation that risked his life, Hyeong-ju wondered, “What on earth is that woman to you?” Duhak said, “I don't know either. “I guess it’s just empty,” he said.

When Duhak had no way to regain his senses, he went to see Cheolwoong. Duhak expressed his wish to borrow the power of the National Intelligence Service through Cheolwoong. Cheol-woong, who is still suffering because of the National Intelligence Service, expressed his anger at Doo-hak for talking about the National Security Agency. Doo-hak says there is no other way and asks him to “pay back half of the debt you owe me,” and Cheol-woong gets angry at Doo-hak. Attention is focused on what changes their choices will bring.

The pain of the three young people, Doo-hak, Shin-shin, and Cheol-woong, living in a turbulent era, evoked regret. Duhak, who was born as the son of a laborer, was unable to disobey his father's will, so he became a criminal with a murder record and had no choice but to follow the path of a gangster who was criticized by others. The spirit that protected his father's theater found himself in a dangerous situation, risking his life in order to succeed in the movie industry. Cheolwoong suffered from being held back by the past actions he was forced to take due to threats from the National Intelligence Service, rather than his belief in protecting justice in a dictatorship. The innocence and earnestness of three young people trying to protect their first love even in a dead-end situation made viewers of 'Oasis' fall in love with their lives.
