Jeon Hyun-moo’s viewership ratings humiliation ‘No Money, No Art’

In Korea's first art variety show 'No Money, No Art', which first aired on the 23rd, artists Lee Sa-ra, Jisim Se-yeon, Lim Jeong-ah and N5BRA went on stage and revealed their four-person, four-color work view and working methods. The viewership rating for the first episode was 0.8% (Nielsen Korea nationwide standard).
On this day, Jeon Hyun-moo, a 21-year veteran broadcaster, paused for a moment before announcing the topic and aroused curiosity by saying, “I have done many broadcasts, but I will introduce (the topic) in the way that is the most difficult.”
Afterwards, when the studio was dark, Jeon Hyun-moo transformed into an anchor, saying, “Hello, this is KBS News Jeon Hyun-moo.” Seeing Jeon Hyun-moo delivering the news seriously for the first time in a long time, Kim Min-kyung gave a 'two-step compliment', saying, "As expected, the best announcer and the best MC!" However, Bong Tae-gyu dissed, “You’re a traitor to KBS!” and Jeon Hyun-moo quickly agreed, saying, “That’s the correct answer!”
Hosted by MC Jeon Hyun-moo, N5BRA, who had the title of sold-out artist in their 5th year of debut, was the first to come on stage. Bong Tae-gyu, who served as an art curator, appealed to artist N5BRA, saying, “You have to wait at least a year to purchase his current work,” and explained the collectible value of his first oil painting, “The Thrown Man.” Following artist N5BRA, Jisim Se-yeon, an artist with 12 years of experience drawing 'explosions' using the finger painting technique, appeared paired with Gaeko. Writer Jisim Se-yeon aroused admiration by releasing 'Make Love No War 2-2', which vividly conveys the afterimage of fireworks.

Above all, among their works, only the one that received the most votes from art collectors will be put up for final auction, so the four artists set out to show off their charm through the 'Live Drawing' show. The theme of the 'Live Drawing Show' was 'No Money, No Art', and the four artists completed the work by filling the blank canvas in just 20 minutes. Artist Jisim Se-yeon filled a side dish container with paint and showed a bold touch with her fingers instead of a brush. She received applause when she explained, “I expressed waves exploding on rocks, constantly overcoming difficulties.”
From the unique beginning of using the back side of the canvas, artist Lee Sa-ra stole the show with her performance of tearing the black-covered canvas without hesitation. Regarding the completed work, he said, “I expressed the pain of my difficult days as a new artist through a performance of tearing the canvas,” and “The bright colors revealed on the other side of the dark canvas are a message of support to my fellow artists.”
After the introduction of the works and the live drawing show, a vote for art collectors' preferences was held. As a result, artist Ra Ra Lee's 'WHERE IS YOUR WONDERLAND' was selected as the final work to be auctioned. Afterwards, with Jeon Hyun-moo's auction proceeding, a fierce bidding competition took place, and the auction price, which started from 0 won, soared frighteningly until the final bid was won at 21 million won. Artist Lee Sa-ra said, “Art artists don’t have many opportunities to meet collectors in person, so I was glad to meet them through ‘No Money, No Art,’ and I will work hard in the future.”
With the purpose of “showing that art can make money,” ‘No Money No Art’ is broadcast every Thursday at 9:50 PM, introducing artists and works active in Korea and providing opportunities to own them.
