Ji Seok-jin, a cooking genius! Mullet catching ‘double hit’
MOM succeeded in catching a thrilling mullet.

In the 118th episode of MBC's entertainment show 'It's a Good Thing We Don't Fight' (hereinafter referred to as 'Good thing I Know'), which aired on the 10th, unit group MOM members Ji Seok-jin, KCM, and Wonstein's 'Hold My Hand' (I will hold you with my hand) was depicted.

On this day, MOM, a group so close that they call each other like family, gathered on the island at the summons of their eldest brother Ji Seok-jin. The three people came together to become more connected, but their island life did not go easily from the beginning. On the way to the island, which was filled with thick fog and a chilling atmosphere, only the youngest Wonstein was happy, saying, “It’s like the movie ‘The Mist.’”

‘Cartoon Man’ Wonstein’s wild imagination continued. It made me laugh to see people apply knowledge they saw in cartoons, movies, and games to actual island life, such as calling a buoy on the beach a sofa or thinking about growing corn using seeds obtained from bird droppings. When they were finished, they had fun as if they were collecting game items, creating a pleasant 'I'll do it with my own hands' atmosphere.

The eldest brother Ji Seok-jin, known as the 'city guy', had the hardest time even though he called his younger siblings. Because his feet keep falling out of the mudflats, he makes his younger siblings dig up his feet instead of clams, and when he eats oysters 'with my own hands', he says 'haegam' is 'osmosis', showing his 'city guy' side.

Although the three people obtained a large quantity of oysters thanks to the oyster fields discovered in the tidal flats, they were still lacking in other food ingredients. They went out to the sea where the water flows in, carrying a very large footstool that had been left behind by a natural person on the island. Under the leadership of Heo Se-nam KCM, the self-proclaimed ‘King of Joktae’, Ji Seok-jin and Wonstein also took their places and spread out their footbaths. Boom and Ahn Jung-hwan of the studio were also surprised by the size, which seemed to be almost 50 meters long.

An even more surprising thing unfolded at sea. A large school of mullet came close to the three people. One of them entered MOM's foot holder, but escaped the foot holder by flying, making everyone doubt their eyes. The three people who witnessed the mullet in person did not know how to give up. Despite repeated failures, my determination to catch the mullet did not break. In particular, Ji Seok-jin regretted leaving the warm studio, saying, “Why am I doing this?”, but held on to his feet until the end.

As if in response to their efforts, two mullet were caught in the pole at the last moment. As a result, the three were able to make a hearty dinner including oyster pancakes, fried mullet, raw mullet, and stewed mullet. Among them, Ji Seok-jin, a self-proclaimed cooking genius, made his own marinade, and the youngest Wonstein's braised mullet with all the ingredients he wanted drew everyone's admiration. KCM said, “It’s a taste that teacher Baek Jong-won would aim for,” and Wonstein praised it, saying, “It’s as delicious as what my grandmother made.”

In the scene where three people taste fried mullet, the viewership rating soared to 6.8% (based on Nielsen Korea's metropolitan area), making it the best minute.

‘It’s a Good Thing We Don’t Fight’ airs every Monday at 9 PM.
