Jeong Mi-ae "I gave up being a singer after undergoing surgery to remove 1/3 of my tongue."
The 602nd episode of KBS 2TV's 'Immortal Songs', which will air on the 15th, will feature a special feature '2023 Spring Day - Kim Yeon-ja's Spring Flower Train'.
Jeong Mi-ae, who came on stage with Jeongjeongsong's 'My Love', received enthusiastic cheers and applause from the audience. As the song ends, the audience chants Jung Mi-ae's name and welcomes her comeback stage.
Kim Yeon-ja, who met Jeong Mi-ae, who came down from the stage to the talk section, could not hold back her tears. Kim Yeon-ja gives a thumbs up, saying, “Jeong Mi-ae is really good at singing. I met her a long time ago, and she sang ‘Mercury Lantern,’ so I gave her a little advice. Then, when I met her, she sang better than me.”
Jeong Mi-ae is touching as she tells the story of how she was diagnosed with stage 3 tongue cancer and overcame it. Jeong Mi-ae, who was living with inflammation in her mouth, felt something unusual and was diagnosed with tongue cancer at a large hospital. He said about his feelings at the time, “I can’t tell you. “The sky fell,” he confesses, adding, “At first, I gave up because I thought I couldn’t be a singer.”
Jeong Mi-ae continued, “I cut off 1/3 of my tongue. “The surgery took about 8 hours,” he said. “Maybe because I’ve been singing for a long time, I couldn’t give up singing even after the surgery. I underwent rehabilitation for a long time. “As I kept repeating it, I ended up pronouncing things that I wasn’t supposed to,” she recalled, shedding tears.
After overcoming tongue cancer, Mi-ae Jeong goes on stage to perform 'Immortal Song' and smiles, saying she is happy to meet the audience and receives applause from everyone. Kim Yeon-ja said, “I suffered from a serious illness, but I overcame it. It is said that he sent a message of support to his junior Jeong Mi-ae, who returned to the stage after recovering her health after an arduous battle with illness, saying, “I will say it again, I respect you.”
This 'Kim Yeon-ja's Spring Flower Train' special was planned following the Jang Sa-ik special show 'Spring Day', which received great support from viewers last year. Yeonja Kim and her juniors are expected to bring emotion and joy to viewers by riding the spring flower train filled with the scent of spring flowers.
