Kim Jong-kook and Lee Eun-ji win TV entertainment award, “We will never take it lightly”
On the afternoon of the 28th, the '2023 59th Baeksang Arts Awards' awards ceremony was held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do. Broadcaster Shin Dong-yup and actors Park Bo-gum and Suzy hosted the event, and it was broadcast live on JTBC, JTBC2, JTBC4, and TikTok.
Lee Eun-ji, who went on stage with tears in her eyes, said, "Whenever I come home from a variety show, I never once think, 'I did a good job' or 'I made some comments.' Every time, I think, 'Why did you do that?' or 'I should have stayed quiet.' “There were many nights when I regretted it,” he said. “I am so thankful for this award. On the other hand, I am embarrassed. The seniors in front of me know better, but there is nothing I can do alone in entertainment. I cried, laughed, danced with them, and cheered them on.” “I think I received this award because I had many colleagues, seniors, and juniors who helped me,” he expressed his gratitude.
He then said, "I will never take this award lightly, and I will use it as good nourishment for the pain and sorrow that will come in my life in the future. There are many people who tell me that they can smile a lot because of me these days, and I am even more thankful for them saying that they are grateful."
Kim Jong-kook said, “I was originally a singer,” and added, “I gained a lot from doing entertainment. I lived my life trying to become a bright, positive, and better person. I will continue to work hard with a grateful heart.”
