Cheon Moo-young (played by Ryu Kyung-soo), who wants to cause pain to Lee Yeon by getting rid of her precious people, and Ryu Hong-joo (played by Kim So-yeon), who doubts the identity of the two friends who suddenly appeared, made Lee Yeon's fate even more curious after she crash-landed in 1938.

On this day, Lee Yeon resolved her feelings with Goo Shin-ju (played by Hwang Hee), whom she had a dramatic reunion with. Lee Yeon reflects on her mission to take on the red and white mask and return to modern times. Lee Rang (played by Beom Kim), who overheard the conversation between the two, became distraught at the word of breakup. Lee Yeon, who fell asleep while waiting for her younger brother, encountered an unexpected gift. Hong Baek Tal sent Saetani (played by Kim Yu-ha), who had been sealed for 500 years. Satani, imbued with a powerful curse, was a monster created by the flame ritual. Lee Yeon met Saetani's eyes in her sleep and felt uncomfortable.
The next day, Lee Yeon heard that someone was looking for her and headed to the meeting place. There was Ryu Hong-ju holding a bouquet of flowers. Previously, Ryu Hong-joo met Cheon Mu-young. Ryu Hong-ju was suspicious of Cheon Mu-young, who only said that there was something to find out. Lee Yeon, who had no way of knowing this, grumbled as usual and turned to Ryu Hong-joo. At that moment, Lee Yeon’s vision became dark. Behind the embarrassed Lee Yeon, Cheon Mu-young held out his blade. Ryu Hong-ju blocked this, but did not reveal the identity of the Hongbaek mask. In this way, the risky and dangerous three-way meeting between the three people ended with each person hiding their secrets.
Convinced that everything was the work of Hong Baek Tal, Lee Yeon prepared for the coming attack. Meanwhile, the Old God Lord prepared an amulet to remove the curse. Ryu Hong-joo took advantage of Lee Yeon's crisis and attempted a dizzying temptation again. However, Lee Yeon was unwavering and dissuaded him, saying it was just a form of strong possessiveness and not affection. Accordingly, Ryu Hong-ju decided to become Lee Yeon's bitter enemy and caused trouble for him by informing the monsters about his weakness of being blind.
Even in a situation where he was trapped in the dark, he used the instincts of a nine-tailed fox and escaped from the threat of monsters, but the crisis was not over. Lee Rang and Gu Shin-ju were kidnapped by Hongbaektal. The red and white mask lured Lee Yeon. Lee Yeon, who was blind, received the help of a girl and headed to the hermitage on the eastern bank that Hong Baek Tal had mentioned.
The road wasn't smooth either. Because the red and white mask constantly attacked. Hong Baek Tal harassed Lee Yeon by deliberately shooting arrows out of the way, as if herding rabbits. In the end, an arrow pierced Lee Yeon's ankle, and he obediently handed his sword to Hong Baek Tal as a sign of surrender. This was a kind of smokescreen operation. He used the sword as a lightning rod to attack the red and white mask. However, Lee Yeon still did not know where Lee Rang and Gu Shin-ju were.
Saetani appeared in front of Lee Yeon. Satani was the girl who helped him. He asked me to find his name and was angry that I had broken my promise. Lee Yeon, who was struggling with the searing pain, thought that the sound of his bell was familiar. Lee Yeon remembered that it was a gift she had given to a girl in the forest she ruled in the past. In the past, the girl followed a shaman on behalf of her twin brother and became Saetani. Trapped in a place where all sides were blocked, she held onto the bell that Lee Yeon gave her and earnestly prayed for her to be saved, but in response to the girl's resentment as to why she did not come, Lee Yeon offered a sincere apology. Lee Yeon soon remembered the girl's name, 'Azalea', and comforted his wounded heart.
After the Saetani curse was lifted, Lee Yeon went straight to rescue Lee Rang and Gu Shin-ju. The moment they tried to save the two from drowning, the mermaid Jang Yeo-hee (played by Woo Hyun-jin) appeared and saved Lee Rang. This is because he knew that Lee Rang was dangerous through the scales he gave him as a gift in return for helping him. Seeing Lee Rang so safe, Lee Yeon expressed a small wish, saying, “That day, for the first time, I had something on my bucket list.” In the era in which his younger brother lives, his determination not to leave the dangerous red and white mask alive made him look forward to the story ahead.
Ryu Hong-ju was summoned to the Immigration Office. This is because he harmed a Japanese soldier who was harassing a gisaeng at Myoyeonggak. There, Ryu Hong-ju realized that Lee Yeon and Cheon Mu-young, who appeared in front of him, were not the friends he remembered. Lee Yeon and Cheon Mu-young suddenly appear at the same time on the same day. Ryu Hong-joo's suspicion of the identity of the two added to the sense of crisis.
