'Doctor Cha Jeong-suk' Myung Se-bin "It's natural to be criticized for having an affair, if it were me, I wouldn't have met Kim Byung-chul in the US"

In the JTBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Doctor Cha Jeong-suk', which ended on the 4th, Myung Se-bin played the role of Choi Seung-hee, a talented family medicine specialist and the affair partner of Seo In-ho (Kim Byung-cheol), and portrayed complex emotions convincingly. Myung Se-bin, who succeeded in acting as an adulterous woman character after breaking the image of first love, was praised for causing a 'sadness' that cannot be hated just like an anger-inducing 'villain'.
Myung Se-bin said, "I thought it was natural to be criticized. Being an adulterous woman is not a good image", but "I wanted to show the life of a person named Choi Seung-hee rather than a simple adulterous woman. I wanted to do it. I focused on Seung-hee's misaligned and scarred life. I didn't hide because she was an adulterous woman, but I thought there had to be a solid reason for why she made that choice."
"The director said that because I played the role of Choi Seung-hee, the delivery was better and I looked more sincere. It's because I didn't have an ordinary adulterous woman image. I think that's why people could think more about Seung-hee's position."
In the play, Choi Seung-hee is born into a good family, has a beautiful appearance and outstanding abilities, but is married to Cha Jeong-suk (Uhm Jung-hwa) and has an affair with her first love, Seo In-ho (Kim Byung-cheol). Regarding this, Myung Se-bin said, “Although they didn’t express themselves much in the drama, I wonder if Choi Seung-hee and Seo In-ho had a feeling of being like soul mates beyond the feelings of first love. He was the first person. And didn't that first love abandon himself because he had a one night stand with another woman and had a child? That must have been a trauma Choi Seung-hee couldn't handle."
She continued, "I was trying to live my own life in America, but I met In-ho by chance and got pregnant. As a woman, I don't think I could have made a decision right away if I thought I could get rid of this child. After going through it, time must have passed, and I would have wanted to feel that child like the line 'I missed you', and since he was a person who had a great lack of family, I wonder if he had a strong desire to create a family of his own."
If it had been Myung Se-bin, would he have made the same choice as Choi Seung-hee? He said, "I don't know either. Because I have a different mindset when I'm in Korea and when I'm abroad. It can be emotional, right? It's a little regretful that I chose to meet again after going to the United States. If it were me, I think I would have put on the brakes without meeting in the first place." said.
