Director Byun Young-joo, humiliated after doing like 'Hitchcock' "I appeared in a cameo but was edited"

On the 26th, EBS broadcasted 'Stories you don't know, person discussion' (hereafter referred to as 'person discussion'), we had time to look at Alfred Hitchcock's reversal side, a master of suspense. Bae Jeong-jae, Jang Do-yeon, Professor Kwak Jae-sik and film director Byun Young-joo who directed the movie 'Hwacha' appeared.
Director Hitchcock, who is still a textbook for filmmakers, is also famous for making cameo appearances in his films. It turned out that his first cameo appearance was to promote his own film. Director Byun Young-joo introduced the fact that when a new film was released, the audience played a game of searching for Hitchcock's cameo, and revealed that he also appeared in his movie 'Hitchcock' as a surprise. However, all the cast burst into laughter when he revealed that all of the cameo shots he appeared in were edited because of his poor acting skills.

Hitchcock, who was the first to try many film techniques, laid the foundation for many film directors to pay homage to. Director Steven Spielberg followed the filming method in the movie 'Jaws', and explained as an example that Martin Scorsese's 'Taxi Driver' is similar to the opening of Hitchcock's 'Vertigo'.
An anecdote is told of a young Hitchcock living at the same time as Jack the Ripper and showing interest in murder. Leyton Stone in England, where Hitchcock lived, was a residential area for workers located near London. Hitchcock grew up listening to the criminal cases that customers talked about because of his grandfather's background as a greengrocer, but his twist was that he was a coward.

Director Hitchcock, who entered Hollywood with 'Rebecca' in 1940, is a genius, but at the same time, there was another aspect of reversal that could not be praised only as a genius. It was the prank that went beyond the limit and put the actors in trouble. During the filming of the movie '39 Steps', an anecdote was revealed in which the male and female protagonists joked about losing the key to the handcuffs even though they filmed while being handcuffed. In particular, during the filming of the movie 'Bird', she tricked the female lead, Tippi Hedren, into filming with a real bird, not an artificial bird, and ended up in a hospital. All the cast members were astonished at Hitchcock's behavior, saying that it was a joke that crossed the line.

Regarding the reason Hitchcock was able to create such great works, director Byun Young-joo explained, "It seems that Hitchcock only had films. He seems to have chosen films as the only way to prove himself to the world."
