ILLIT Unveils Sneak Peek of New Mini Album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI'

The group ILLIT has released a preview of all the tracks from their new album.

ILLIT, consisting of members YoonA, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha, shared a highlight medley video of their fourth mini-album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI' on HYBE Labels' YouTube channel on the 21st.

The video, shot by the members themselves using smartphones, resonates with the 10s and 20s generation who enjoy capturing and sharing everyday moments like self-makeup or time with pets. It creatively portrays the characteristics of this generation, who are accustomed to real-time communication through video calls and messages, enhancing viewer engagement.

The spotlight is on the title track 'It's Me'. It captures the bold charm of ILLIT in the techno genre, expressing the moment of deepening contemplation about defining a relationship after a first date with the declaration, "Your favorite is me!" The intense beat and addictive sound stimulate the listener's dopamine, while the whispered lyrics "It's Me" leave a lasting impression.

The track 'GRWM (Get Ready With Me)' offers a contrasting vibe with its gentle melody, depicting intimate moments of sharing true feelings with someone while bare-faced. It's a Drum and Bass (DnB) genre song infused with ILLIT's unique liveliness. 'paw, paw!' is an electro-pop song characterized by a heavy bass sound contrasting with its emotional melody line, with lyrics penned by member Iroha expressing affection for her beloved pet.

The album's title track 'Mamihlapinatapai' exudes a chic and free-spirited American pop-rock style. It conveys a message to contemporary youth who have become 'lazy perfectionists' amidst numerous choices and responsibilities. 'Love, older you' is an alternative pop genre with warm and gentle emotions, offering deep comfort through its lyrics, heightening anticipation for the full track.

Following the highlight medley video, ILLIT will continue to drop hints about the title track 'It's Me'. On the 23rd, they will release a campaign film revealing the song's message and sound, followed by the 'IT'S ME' version concept on the 24th. Official teasers 1 and 2 for the title track's music video will be unveiled on the 27th and 28th, with the highly anticipated new album and full music video set to be released on the 30th at 6 PM.
