BTS Expands 'THE CITY ARIRANG' to Las Vegas and Busan: A Global Cultural Phenomenon
On April 20, BTS announced on the global superfan platform Weverse that they will continue the 'THE CITY ARIRANG' festival in Las Vegas in May and Busan in June.
'THE CITY ARIRANG' is a large-scale city project that reflects BTS's stories in urban spaces. It transforms entire cities into massive cultural hubs through music and media installations. The project began in Seoul on March 20 with the release of their fifth studio album 'ARIRANG'. As it expands to new regions, 'THE CITY ARIRANG' marks a successful step towards becoming a global project. The programs will be tailored to each city's unique characteristics, providing a synergy with the local culture and offering fresh experiences.
'THE CITY ARIRANG' in Las Vegas will take place from May 20 to 31. The city will be transformed into a festival ground around the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN LAS VEGAS' concerts at Allegiant Stadium on May 23-24 and 27-28.
This project promises an enhanced immersive experience through partnerships with major local brands. Starting May 20, themed rooms at 'IP Hotel' will be available, and official after-parties will be held at renowned clubs to extend the concert experience. Collaborations with world-famous restaurant brands will also be part of the event.
Spectacular visual displays using the city's landmarks are also planned. The Strip, Las Vegas's iconic tourist and commercial district, will be transformed into a vibrant festival venue during the project. Key locations will be illuminated in BTS's signature red color, and large digital billboards will display welcome messages to greet visitors. Additional spaces will be converted into 'THE CITY ARIRANG' stages.
The excitement continues in Busan from June 5 to 21. Various programs will be held in conjunction with the world tour concerts at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12 and 13.
