Ali Honors Late Wheesung with Heartfelt Tribute Performance
Ali appeared on 'Wheesung Tribute X MBC It's Live', which was released on the 8th, to honor the late artist with a special performance.
The video is part of a tribute project designed to commemorate Wheesung. Artists who had connections with him, such as Bang Yedam, K.Will, Na Yoon Kwon, Solji, Jung In, Jo Jaezz, Park Hye Won, and Kim Jin Ho, participated in the project. The event was hosted by Mighty Mouth.
On this occasion, Ali performed Wheesung's 'The Day We Meet Again'. Dressed in a white suit, she began the song with a calm demeanor, gradually building up the emotional intensity. She maintained the original atmosphere of the song while infusing her own style into the performance.
After the performance, Ali conducted an interview with Na Yoon Kwon. She reminisced, "I made my broadcast debut as a chorus singer at the 'Daegu Teleconcert' with Wheesung." She explained that she chose this song because Wheesung had given her the opportunity to sing the second verse and ad-libs, which helped her debut.
Ali also shared, "During my chorus activities, I observed how Wheesung meticulously checked the sound conditions during rehearsals." She added that this attention to detail influenced her own approach to monitoring her performances after her debut.
Additionally, at Shorry's request, Ali performed 'As If Nothing Happened', a song she collaborated on with Wheesung, without any accompaniment, capturing the audience's attention.
Ali expressed her hope that fans would remember today with joy and feel happy when thinking of musician Wheesung. She also thanked the production team for inviting her to the event.
Ali recently concluded her 20th-anniversary national tour in January. In May of last year, she released 'Azaleas Bloomed'. Currently, she is meeting fans nationwide through the duet concert 'SONG: THE BATTLE OF LEGENDS' with Jung Dong Ha.
