NiziU Tops Japan's Oricon Weekly Album Chart with New EP 'GOOD GIRL BUT NOT FOR YOU'
JYP Entertainment's girl group NiziU has claimed the top spot on Japan's major weekly album rankings with their new album.

On April 1, NiziU made a comeback with their second Japanese EP, 'GOOD GIRL BUT NOT FOR YOU', and its title track 'Too Bad'. The new release, showcasing the dynamic energy of the nine members, topped the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking and the Weekly Combined Ranking (2026.03.30~2026.04.05) as of April 13, reaffirming the group's immense popularity.

Notably, NiziU first reached the top of the Oricon Weekly Combined Album Ranking with their pre-debut digital mini-album 'Make you happy' in July 2020. With 'GOOD GIRL BUT NOT FOR YOU', they have now achieved their seventh number one, making them the female artist with the most number one titles on this chart. The Weekly Album Ranking saw them first reach the top with their debut full-length album 'U' in December 2021, and they have since placed six consecutive releases at the top, marking the second-highest record for a female group.

The new release also topped Billboard Japan's 'Top Album Sales' chart for April 8 (26.03.30~26.04.05), achieving a triple crown on major local weekly album charts. The title track 'Too Bad' reached number one on the iTunes J-Pop Song Chart in nine regions, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Turkey, Austria, Thailand, Peru, and Kazakhstan, highlighting the global fan interest in NiziU's 2026 comeback.

The new EP 'GOOD GIRL BUT NOT FOR YOU', released approximately 1 year and 9 months after their first EP 'RISE UP' in July 2024, embodies a bold mood of pursuing what they desire. It includes three tracks: the title track 'Too Bad', a fan song 'Light it Up' with lyrics penned by the members, and a pre-released cover of popular local singer Kana Nishino's hit 'Dear…'. The album has received widespread acclaim for its captivating sound.

Continuing their momentum, NiziU will embark on their second dome tour, 'NiziU Live with U 2026 DOME TOUR', in June. Following the successful completion of their 'NiziU Live with U 2026 "NEW EvoNUtion"' arena tour, which sold out all 12 shows across five regions in Japan, the dome tour will expand this excitement with performances at Kyocera Dome Osaka on June 6 and 7, and Tokyo Dome on June 13 and 14.
