Known as the 'Korean Grammy Awards', the Korean Music Awards began in 2004 and are a prestigious ceremony that evaluates the balance of popularity and musicality in domestic pop music. The selection committee, composed of pop music critics, music journalists and editors, and broadcast producers, determines the nominees and winners. The awards aim to transcend the boundaries between mainstream and non-mainstream music, recognizing pop music as an artistic creation and promoting its diversity and creative vitality.
