Veteran Singer Geum Jan-di Joins 'The King of Singers 3' Audition Show
Veteran singer Geum Jan-di, with a career spanning 26 years, is set to make a surprising appearance on the audition show.

According to TenAsia's exclusive report on the 9th, Geum Jan-di, who debuted 26 years ago, will participate in MBN's 'The King of Singers 3.' She plans to showcase her skills as the most senior contestant on the show. Her unexpected participation has reportedly left other contestants in awe. Geum Jan-di decided to join the show to prove her talent.

'The King of Singers 3' is a survival music variety show where top-tier active singers from various genres in South Korea compete fiercely for the national representative title. The cast gathered for the first recording on the 18th.

In addition to Geum Jan-di, the show will feature Stephanie, Cha Ji-yeon, Bae Da-hae, Kan Mi-yeon, Jin So-ri, Hi-yang, Jung Mi-ae, Hong Ja, Sook-haeng, Kim Tae-yeon, Kim Ui-young, Hong Ji-yoon, Bin Ye-seo, So Yoo-mi, Lee Soo-yeon, Akiyama Saki, and Kang Hye-yeon. The competition between traditional trot singers and those from other genres is expected to be intense.

This season introduces a new evaluation method called 'Witch Hunt.' The 'Witch Team' includes Jung Hoon-hee, Jung Soo-ra, and Seo Joo-kyung, while the masters are Park Gu-yoon, Lyn, and Byeol Sa-rang.

Facing the veteran singers, some contestants were shocked, exclaiming, “Is a witch really coming?” Some even expressed doubts about their participation, saying, “I think I came to the wrong place,” causing a stir on set.

Meanwhile, MBN's 'The King of Singers 3' is set to premiere on the 23rd.
