NewJeans Members Launch New SNS Account 'Jeanzforfree' with 3.3 Million Followers

The five members of the group NewJeans—Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein—have launched a new social media account, amassing 3.3 million followers.

As of the 22nd, the independently created SNS account 'jeanzforfree' by the five members has reached 3.307 million followers. Just three days ago, on the 19th, the follower count was around 3.2 million, indicating a growth of approximately 100,000 followers in that period.

Since its launch on the 14th, the account has seen an initial explosive growth, but the increase has since slowed, stabilizing around the 3 million mark.

In comparison, the group I-LIT holds slightly more followers at 3.345 million, while the group Eunice has 2.06 million followers.

The five members have been actively engaging with the public by posting daily updates of their lives on the unofficial account 'jeanzforfree' since its inception on the 14th.

There has been speculation in the industry that NewJeans might continue their activities under the name 'NewJeans,' but this remains unconfirmed. The members have not taken any formal steps, such as trademark registration, to secure the name.

Instead, it seems more plausible that the account's creation is to publicly announce the termination of their contract with ADOR. Additionally, it appears to be an effort to solidify their fan base amid a decline in their public image.

Some observers note that the account's 3.3 million followers reflect a dedicated fan base for Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, although this number is significantly lower compared to the official NewJeans account under ADOR.

Meanwhile, NewJeans member Hani's claim of contract termination with ADOR has led to the expiration of her E-6 (Entertainment) visa, potentially making her an illegal resident. This development casts uncertainty over the group's future activities.
