Jang Da-ah Makes Her Screen Debut with 'Salmoji': A Journey into Horror
On the 24th, a press screening and media conference for the film 'Salmoji' (directed by Lee Sang-min) was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Lee Sang-min, along with actors Kim Hye-yoon, Lee Jong-won, Kim Jun-han, Kim Young-sung, Oh Dong-min, Yoon Jae-chan, and Jang Da-ah, were in attendance.
'Salmoji' tells the story of a mysterious shape captured at a reservoir known for strange rumors, prompting a road view filming team to return for a reshoot, leading to a series of eerie events.
Jang Da-ah plays the role of Moon Se-jung, who runs a 'horror exploration' channel. She recalled, "Although we filmed in a confined space, the impact of the location was significant. It became more eerie at night, and strangely, even during the day, it felt unsettling. The boundary between land and water was ambiguous."
As 'Salmoji' marks Jang Da-ah's first film, she expressed, "When I first dreamed of acting, I had a dream and a longing to buy a ticket with my own money and watch my movie on a big screen. I am grateful to have worked with an attractive script and excellent senior actors sooner than I expected." She added, "Watching the movie today, I was busy finding points of regret and shortcomings, but I want to watch it two or three more times to fully enjoy it."
Jang Da-ah also took on the challenge of a horror film with 'Salmoji'. She stated, "I read the script with gratitude to the director for trusting me with a character different from those I had portrayed before. The script was intriguing, so I decided to do it without hesitation." She further shared, "What felt meaningful was that I got to act out situations I had never experienced before, which felt dramatic. It was a significant experience for my future acting career."
'Salmoji' is set to be released on April 8.
