Shin Se-kyung Discusses On-Screen Romance with Park Jung-min in 'Human Intelligence'
On the 4th, a press conference for the movie 'Human Intelligence' was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Ryoo Seung-wan, along with actors Jo In-sung, Park Jung-min, Park Hae-joon, and Shin Se-kyung, were in attendance.
'Human Intelligence' is a story set in Vladivostok, where secrets and truths are submerged in the icy sea, and individuals with different objectives clash. The title 'Human Intelligence' refers to intelligence activities conducted through human interactions.
Jo In-sung plays the role of Cho, a South Korean National Intelligence Service agent. Park Jung-min portrays Park Geon, a North Korean State Security Department officer. Park Hae-joon takes on the role of Hwang Chi-seong, the North Korean Consul General in Vladivostok. Shin Se-kyung appears as Chae Sun-hwa, a North Korean restaurant worker in Vladivostok.
Reflecting on her role, Shin Se-kyung shared, "Filming overseas for an extended period allowed me to create intense and beautiful memories. I'm excited yet nervous."
Regarding her romantic scenes with Park Jung-min, Shin expressed, "It was a different kind of romance from what I've done before, and I was excited to work with Park Jung-min. It was both thrilling and enjoyable." She added, "While the emotional connection between my character and Park Geon is important, I believe the overall harmony and chemistry of the film are crucial. I'm grateful if it was well-received."
Jo In-sung, who observed their romantic scenes, commented, "The director paid a lot of attention, and he encouraged us to watch the scenes unfold. I hoped their romance would shine both on and off-screen. Both actors are veterans, and their interpretations brought out a poignant performance."
Director Ryoo Seung-wan praised Shin Se-kyung's on-screen presence, saying, "We didn't specifically aim to make her look beautiful; her dedication to the role of Chae Sun-hwa naturally came through on camera." He humorously added, "The cinematographers captured her beauty, not me, but she looks beautiful no matter what."
'Human Intelligence' is set to release on the 11th.
