Jun Jong-seo Opens Up About Her Bond with Han So-hee and Their New Film 'Project Y'
On the 9th, Jun Jong-seo sat down for an interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, to discuss her upcoming film 'Project Y'. Directed by Lee Hwan, the movie is set to release on the 21st and tells the story of Mi-seon and Do-kyung, who, while dreaming of a different future in the heart of a bustling city, find themselves on the edge of life, stealing black money and gold bars.
In the film, Jun Jong-seo plays the role of Do-kyung, who makes a living as a private taxi driver. During the interview, she mentioned her co-star and close friend, Han So-hee.
When asked if she would have chosen the project if Han So-hee hadn't, Jun cautiously replied, "I'm not sure," but added, "(Han) So-hee used the term 'timely connection' in her interview yesterday. That phrase stuck with me. It felt like this project came to both So-hee and me at just the right time, like fate."
Interestingly, there was a mix-up regarding Han So-hee's birth year. Initially thought to be born in 1994, it was later clarified by TenAsia that she was actually born in 1993. Jun Jong-seo reacted with surprise, "I just found out about that. She's a '93?" eliciting laughter.
Jun Jong-seo shared that their friendship began through Instagram DMs. "(Han So-hee) sent me a DM on Instagram. We started talking and naturally met up," she recalled. "I've received DMs from other female celebrities and actresses, but I think So-hee was the first I replied to. We ended up chatting and meeting at my place."
She added, "In this line of work, there are many things to explain to friends with ordinary jobs. As fellow actors, there are things we understand without having to say them. That shared understanding was definitely a reason we became close."
