Lee Ha-nee Joins 'The Neighbors Upstairs' Thanks to Gong Hyo-jin's Suggestion
Lee Ha-nee has revealed how she became part of the film 'The Neighbors Upstairs.'

Recently, at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul, actress Lee Ha-nee, who stars in the movie 'The Neighbors Upstairs,' shared her experience.

'"The Neighbors Upstairs' tells the story of an upstairs couple (played by Ha Jung-woo and Lee Ha-nee) who make loud noises and sounds of passion every night, and a downstairs couple (played by Gong Hyo-jin and Kim Dong-wook) who lead a mundane married life. The two couples end up having dinner together one night, leading to unexpected events. Ha Jung-woo not only stars in the film but also directs it. Lee Ha-nee plays the role of Choi Soo-kyung, a psychiatrist who shares a passionate marriage with her husband.

Lee Ha-nee was introduced to the project through a suggestion from Gong Hyo-jin. "Gong Hyo-jin unni sent me the script and proposed the role," she revealed. However, at the time, Lee Ha-nee's schedule was packed, and she was yearning for family time. "I felt sorry to unni, but I told her, 'I really want to be with my family,' and asked for two weeks," she explained. Despite this, director Ha Jung-woo was not willing to wait, as he "criticized me without hesitation," she added.

Nevertheless, Lee Ha-nee's continued interest in the film led Gong Hyo-jin to mediate between them. Ha Jung-woo's reluctance to wait was due to scheduling conflicts. Lee Ha-nee noted, "It showed how much Ha sunbae-nim valued this project."

After wrapping up the film's schedule, Lee Ha-nee plans to spend quality time with her family. "I want to see my child a lot. I also want to recover my body. Like unplugging and replugging to reboot, I want to take a break for a month or two. I feel like I need that time now," she expressed.
