Hyun Woo-seok Embraces BL Genre in '404 Still remain, Our 5 minutes'
On October 31, Hyun Woo-seok sat down for an interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, to discuss his role in the film '404 Still remain, Our 5 minutes'.
Set in 2001, '404 Still remain, Our 5 minutes' tells the story of two boys who share their favorite music and secrets. Hyun Woo-seok plays Jae-min, a model student and class president who warmly approaches the new transfer student, Kyung-hwan, played by Sim Hyun-seo.
The film explores the friendship and budding romantic feelings between the two high school boys, capturing their subtle emotions in a poetic manner.
Hyun Woo-seok stated, "I wasn't particularly concerned about the BL aspect. It's a genre I've always wanted to try." He added, "Kyung-hwan and Jae-min share an emotional connection. From one perspective, it's friendship, but it can also be seen as a journey of self-discovery for young friends. Friends can like each other without it being romantic. I appreciated these emotions and agreed to the role without hesitation."
Hyun Woo-seok began his acting career with Netflix's 'Love Alarm' (2019) and gained recognition as Oh Seung-gwon in 'The School Nurse Files'. He has since appeared in youth dramas like JTBC's 'Live On' and SBS's 'Cheer Up', showcasing his versatility. In '404 Still remain, Our 5 minutes', he takes on the role of Jae-min, a boy who doesn't easily reveal his true feelings.
'404 Still remain, Our 5 minutes' is set to premiere on November 5.
