Lim Yoon-a Discusses Her Dual Role in 'Pretty Crazy'
Lim Yoon-a shares her experience of playing a dual role in the film 'Pretty Crazy', where she portrays a character that oscillates between an angel and a devil.

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet Lim Yoon-a, the lead actress of 'Pretty Crazy', at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul.

'Pretty Crazy' is a comedy that follows the story of a young unemployed man, Gil-gu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), who gets caught up in a bizarre part-time job of monitoring Seon-ji (played by Lim Yoon-a), a woman who turns into a devil every dawn due to a family curse. During the day, Seon-ji runs a bakery, but at night, she transforms into a devil.

Lim Yoon-a explained, "If daytime Seon-ji is pastel-toned, nighttime Seon-ji is vivid-colored. It's more primary colors, more distinct and bold, allowing for a freer expression. The range of expression was more liberating with nighttime Seon-ji." She added, "Nighttime Seon-ji was also styled more flamboyantly. Considering how many trends she must have witnessed living inside the bodies of her ancestors, her style is a mix of various trends, giving an unbalanced feel." She further mentioned, "The styling was not just about contrasting with daytime Seon-ji as a devil, but each detail was meticulously crafted. It was fun to prepare."

When asked which side she relates to more, daytime or nighttime Seon-ji, Lim Yoon-a responded, "Both are part of me." She continued, "I believe every character I play contains a part of me, which is why I'm drawn to them and choose them. I think I have both the daytime and nighttime Seon-ji within me. However, unlike nighttime Seon-ji, I don't make such exaggerated facial expressions," she laughed.
