'My Daughter is a Zombie' Breaks Even in Just 7 Days, Sets New Box Office Records

The film 'My Daughter is a Zombie' has reached its break-even point just seven days after its release.

'My Daughter is a Zombie' is a comedic drama about a doting father who undergoes secret training to protect his daughter, the last remaining zombie on Earth. The film stars Jung-seok, Lee Jung-eun, Jo Yeo-jeong, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Yoo-ri.

Upon its release, 'My Daughter is a Zombie' has been setting various records, and it has added another milestone. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network, the film surpassed 2.2 million cumulative viewers as of the 5th, achieving its break-even point. This makes it the fastest Korean film to do so this year, following its record for the highest opening score for a Korean comedy film and the fastest to reach 1 million and 2 million viewers this year.

Despite fierce competition in the summer box office, 'My Daughter is a Zombie' has maintained its dominant position as the number one film for seven consecutive days. It continues to lead in seat occupancy and advance ticket sales, indicating a stable upward trend. Jo Jung-seok, who previously led summer releases like 'Exit' and 'Pilot' to success, is expected to continue his streak with 'My Daughter is a Zombie.' Additionally, Jo recently announced the joyful news of his wife Gummy's second pregnancy, adding to his celebrations.
