HYBE America and Paramount Pictures Team Up for K-Pop Film Set for 2027 Release
HYBE America is collaborating with Paramount Pictures to produce a film centered around K-Pop.

On the 22nd, HYBE America announced that they have begun production on a K-Pop-themed movie in partnership with Paramount Pictures. The film, which is yet to be titled, will follow the journey of a Korean-American girl who defies her family's wishes to audition for a next-generation K-Pop girl group.

The cast includes Yoo Ji-young, known for her role as 'Joy' in the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' and Eric Nam, who starred as 'Yona Yoon,' a surgical resident, in the movie 'Transplant.'

The film is slated for a theatrical release on February 12, 2027, with filming set to commence in mid-September entirely on location in Korea. This marks the first time a major Hollywood studio will conduct all filming in Korea.

Directed by Benson Lee, with a screenplay by Aileen Shim, the film's production team includes James Shin, President of HYBE America's Film & TV division, Arthur Spector, Joshua Davis, and Scooter Braun. Executive producers are Joshua Bearman, John Zaozirny, and Scott Manson, with Brian Oh, Senior Vice President at Paramount Pictures, overseeing the project.
