Kim Hye-yoon Shares Eerie Behind-the-Scenes Stories from 'Salmoji' Film Set
In a recent interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, Kim Hye-yoon, the lead actress of 'Salmoji,' recounted her experiences.
'Salmoji' is a horror film about a mysterious figure captured at a reservoir known for eerie rumors. The story unfolds as a road view filming team returns to the reservoir for a reshoot. Kim Hye-yoon plays Han Soo-in, a PD at the road view service company Onroad Media.
Ghost sightings are not uncommon on horror film sets, and this one was no exception. A staff member reportedly saw an apparition. Kim Hye-yoon shared, "A staff member claimed to have seen it. It was chilly enough to wear a padded jacket, but they saw a child in a sleeveless shirt in the distance, moving their shoulders as they passed by." She added, "At our accommodation, the sensor lights kept flickering. I told it to stop by the count of three, and it actually stopped by then. We even captured it on video. Everyone was scared that the ghost might follow them."
The humid reservoir setting also posed challenges. Kim Hye-yoon mentioned, "There were so many bugs. I was sweating a lot during the running scenes, and bugs kept sticking to my sweat. We used several bottles of insect repellent." She also noted, "The remote location made bathroom access inconvenient." However, she fondly recalled, "The cast was all around the same age, so it felt like a fun camping trip."
Regarding her chemistry with co-star Lee Jong-won, she said, "He was friendly from the start, and we quickly became close. We joked around a lot." She added, "There was a dynamic of ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend in the film, and I think that playful charm came through well."
'Salmoji' is set to premiere on the 8th.
