Rising Star Jo Yoon-soo Cast in Park Hoon-jung's New Horror Film 'Goblin: Body Snatcher'

Jo Yoon-soo, born in 1998, has been cast in the upcoming film 'Goblin: Body Snatcher'. Known for his impressive performance in last year's release 'Tyrant', Jo is the latest discovery by director Park Hoon-jung, who previously introduced talents like Kim Da-mi and Shin Si-ah.

On October 15, it was confirmed that Jo Yoon-soo will star in 'Goblin: Body Snatcher', a horror film inspired by the traditional Korean folktale 'Hokburi Old Man'. The movie unfolds with eerie and sinister events involving a terminally ill blonde rocker, a mysterious girl of unknown origin, and a strange child with blue eyes.

A graduate of Yong In University's dance department, Jo Yoon-soo made his debut in the 2019 web drama 'Cheese Film'. He has since built a steady presence with roles in 'Love Revolution', 'True Beauty', 'Juvenile Justice', 'The Killer's Shopping List', and 'Understanding of Love'.

Despite being a newcomer, Jo's powerful acting in 'Tyrant' earned him recognition. With Park Hoon-jung's track record of discovering new talent, all eyes are on Jo as he takes the baton. His intense thriller performance in 'Tyrant' proved Park's choice was right once again.

Cha Seung-won, who worked with Jo in 'Tyrant', praised him in an interview, saying, "I'm usually not generous with compliments, but Jo Yoon-soo worked really hard. He did so well that I wanted to support and encourage him."

Following 'Tyrant', Jo Yoon-soo has been cast as a lead in 'Fragmented City', where he will showcase his chemistry with Ji Chang-wook, Do Kyung-soo, and Lee Kwang-soo. Last year, he also expanded his repertoire by making his theater debut in 'Almost, Maine'. 'Goblin: Body Snatcher' marks his highly anticipated screen debut.

An industry insider commented, "With Kim Da-mi and Shin Si-ah making their mark in their unique ways, Jo Yoon-soo is another promising talent to watch. As the youngest among the three, his impactful first lead role performance raises expectations for his debut in Chungmuro."
