Lee Seung-gi and Park Soo-young Share Behind-the-Scenes Stories of Shaving Heads for 'About Family'
Lee Seung-gi and Park Soo-young revealed the behind-the-scenes stories of shaving their heads for the movie 'About Family'.
On the 12th, a production briefing for the film 'About Family' was held at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University Entrance in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
'About Family' is a family comedy about the unexpected cohabitation that ensues when adorable grandchildren, whom he has never seen before, visit the owner of a famous dumpling restaurant, Pyeong Man-ok (played by Kim Yoon-seok), whose family line is cut off because his son (played by Lee Seung-gi) becomes a monk. The event was attended by director Yang Woo-seok and actors Kim Yoon-seok, Lee Seung-gi, Kim Sung-ryung, Kang Han-na, and Park Soo-young.
Kim Yoon-seok plays Ham Moo-ok, the owner of Pyeong Man-ok, who survived as a war orphan during the Korean War and became self-made with just one dumpling. Lee Seung-gi plays Ham Moon-seok, who cuts ties with his father to become a monk.
Park Soo-young appears as In-haeng, a former detective turned monk, who is now Ham Moon-seok's fellow monk. Perfectly fitting the monk character, Park Soo-young shared, "Visitors at the temple stay would tell me, 'May you attain enlightenment,'" bringing laughter.
Having shaved his head, Park Soo-young commented, "If it weren't for my job, I'd like to live with a shaved head. It's so comfortable. It was my first time shaving, and I highly recommend it," eliciting laughter.
In response, Lee Seung-gi said, "I shaved half my head and thought, 'Oh?' Once it was all shaved, it was much shorter than I expected. Since I had other schedules to manage, I wore a wig for about 3-4 months. Soo-young recommends it, and while I agree, a careful simulation is necessary," he said with a laugh. When actor Won Bin's legendary shaved head scene was mentioned, Lee Seung-gi joked, "I tried not to make it look similar. I shaved in a different direction. The purpose of shaving is different, isn't it?"
'About Family' is set to be released on December 11th.
