Actor Jung Woo Reveals Why He Chose to Star in 'Don't Touch the Dirty Money'

On the 10th, a press screening and media conference for the movie 'Don't Touch the Dirty Money' was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Kim Min-soo and actors Jung Woo, Kim Dae-myung, and Park Byung-eun attended the event.
'Don't Touch the Dirty Money' is a film about two detectives who dream of committing the perfect crime to turn their lives around by getting involved with 'dirty money', only to find themselves caught up in unforeseen accidents.
Jung Woo plays the role of Myung-deuk, a detective who takes bribes while covering for illegal businesses. Jung Woo stated, “A detective's job is to catch criminals, but the story of one committing a crime and being chased was refreshing and ingenious. It was new to portray the emotions a criminal must feel, the feeling of being chased, and the psychological pressure of being pursued by someone.”
In the film, Myung-deuk needs a large sum of money for his daughter's hospital bills. Jung Woo shared, “I have a daughter of a similar age, and she was about 3 to 4 years old during filming. I had to call out the child's name in the film, and I ended up using my real daughter's name. I don't remember doing it, but that's what they said. I think I empathized with that emotion.” He continued, “Although committing a crime is wrong, I could fully understand Myung-deuk's feelings. I believe the audience will be able to connect with the emotions of the protagonist, Myung-deuk,” he added with a laugh, “But still, you shouldn't commit crimes.”
'Don't Touch the Dirty Money' is set to be released on the 17th.
