Actress Joo Hyun-young Shares Her Experience at the Busan International Film Festival with 'Ghost Train'
Actress Joo Hyun-young expressed her feelings about attending the Busan International Film Festival for the first time since her debut with the film 'Ghost Train'.

On the afternoon of the 3rd, a stage greeting and open talk were held at the outdoor stage of the Busan Cinema Center. Director Tak Se-woong, Joo Hyun-young, and Jeon Bae-soo attended the outdoor stage greeting event for the film 'Ghost Train'.

'Ghost Train' is a horror film where Da-kyung (played by Joo Hyun-young), a YouTuber with low viewership, meets the stationmaster (played by Jeon Bae-soo) of a mysterious subway station to find real-life horror stories, encountering various bizarre tales. It has been officially invited to the 'Midnight Passion' section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival.

Joo Hyun-young plays the role of Da-kyung, a horror YouTuber who goes to Gwangrim Station to find real-life horror material. Jeon Bae-soo plays the stationmaster of Gwangrim Station, who tells stories to Da-kyung.

On this day, Joo Hyun-young said, "When I first met the director, we bonded over our love for horror movies, and it was meaningful to work together on 'Ghost Train'. It's an honor to be here at the film festival."

Joo Hyun-young, who took on the lead role in her first feature film, said, "In fact, I agreed to do it even before reading the script because I love horror movies that much. I also enjoyed watching the movie 'Ghost Mansion'. Da-kyung's job is a horror YouTuber, and I actually watch a lot of horror YouTuber videos. Before filming, I even consulted with a famous horror YouTuber."

Regarding her character Da-kyung, she added, "She is a character that embodies the theme of desire in the film. As she investigates each episode, she becomes consumed by desire and eventually faces ruin. Watching her, I feel both pity and chills, and it's quite frightening."

'Ghost Train' is scheduled to be released next year.

The 29th Busan International Film Festival runs from the 2nd to the 11th for ten days at the Busan Cinema Center. A total of 224 films have been officially invited, an increase of 15 films compared to last year's 209. The opening film is Netflix's 'Jeon, Ran', and the closing film is 'Journey of the Soul'.
